    Maybe once a year. Not often.

    Quite often, actually. Most every game I want to get unless I'm short on funds or it's not available at the store.

    Because I want it.

    THE GOOD ONES. Usually anything Nintendo that I know is going to be good.

    Whenever I have the funds and sufficient interest in a game to wait on line for about 15 minutes just to get it.

    Any Pokemon, Metroid, or Mario platformer (be it in 2D or 3D). Also, if it's primary distribution method was through CD/DVD form, any Valve game.

    Not very often at all. Most games I buy come from the pre-owned section in the first place. =P
    Why would you get a game on the release day?
    Because I was already excited for the game and set aside the funds to buy it. Pre-order/Day-1 bonuses may be extra incentive, but it's the game that does it.

    New Pokemon installments and games that tend to be hyped before launch.

    Not very often, maybe once or twice a year.

    Either I know the game is going to be good because the series has been good to me thus far, or the game piques my interest to a point where I can't contain myself.

    Usually RPGs. Occaisionally, I'll get the stray platformer or something else, but it's never an FPS.

    To enjoy it fairly early with my friends and family. I sually grab a game and rush over to my cousins'.

    Any game I look forward to a lot, I tend to get on the release day. Lately, that hasn't been a lot of games. (Though I also haven't been looking forward to a lot lately.)

    I'd like to say it's about being able to play it as soon as possible but that's a partial lie, since I could just as easily pirate the games when they leak which is usually a few days earlier. Honestly, it's the pride of being able to say I got it first day. :P

    Kingdom Hearts games, the main Pokémon games, main Assassin's Creed... and that's about it, lately. XD; For the games I import from the KH/PKMN series, I get them with fastest shipping so it's kind of like release-day, even if it takes a day (or two/three if they released on a weekend) to get to me. D:

    If importing from Japan with fastest shipping counts, Pokémon Black. Otherwise? Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. (And before that, Pokémon HeartGold on release day and Birth by Sleep in Japanese with fastest shipping... pattern much? XD)

    Bragging rights and just because it feels good to.

    Anything i'm anticipating. Definitely music games, but also Pokemon and other misc games like Assassin's Creed.

    I don't think I ever have gotten a game on release day; I really don't think it matters.

    - If it's a game I've been following quite closely throughout its development, then I usually HAVE to have that game on the release day.

    When it's part of a series I'm keeping up with, or if it's a game that I think I might seriously enjoy. I think there's really only one example of the latter. ._.

    Due to the fact that in Britain games are normally released two days later I get 'em two days after.

    Basically any game I want I'll try and get on release day. If it's one I wouldn't mind having (EG. Enslaved), but don't want it yet for other reasons (Say lack of funds, too busy with other things, know the price will drop not long after, etc.), I'll wait.

    Hardly ever. I can't remember if I ever have, but it has probably happened before.

    If it's something that is essential and I don't want to miss a single second of it... then I would probably get Black Ops on the release day. I'm just really bad at remembering release dates, so yeah.

    I get most of my games on release day. If it's a game I want then I tend to pre-order it just to make sure I got a copy.
