Okay, first watch this. Now, let me point some things out.
Giovanni claims Team Rocket is merely an illusion, then walks out the door. Normal enough, right? Kind of expected? Nope. You don't hear a normal cave exiting sound, in fact it takes a little longer than normal to hear... a SPLASH. He is hiding out next to a waterfall. Then, Ethan/Lyra comments that, after TR despairingly calls for Giovanni, his followers don't know they'll never see him again... even though he says nothing like that to them. It sounds to me like Nintendo's implying these two kids just watched Giovanni DROWN HIMSELF. So, I was wondering if you guys think this theory is legit, because after watching that, it sure doesn't sound too Farfetch'd to me...

It does seem as if he just jumped into the water. After getting beat by a little kid though, one would not have much reason to continue...

I am now convinced that Ethan is handicapped..."Celebi can travel through time using its mystical power called Time Travel!" NO WAY!!!!

Uh...yeah. Considering Pokémon is an all ages game targeted towards the younger crowd, I kind of doubt they'd include a character's suicide into the storyline.

It sounds more like static from the radio than a splash to me, and that's more believable than what others are speculating.

It was a radio static, clearly. Why would Giovanni suicide. I am a fan of him. Why, evil world, why!

As said, it's a kids game - themes like suicide are very, very unlikely to crop up in the main game series as it's just not how GameFreak roll with Pokemon, really.

And tbh I don't see much other discussion coming from this thread besides more 'yes' or 'no' sort of responses, so going to close.
