Giovanni?

    Does anyone know Giovanni's past? If so, please enlighten me. xD
     
    I think he's just a character that's brought up when TR has a plan to do something, he appears in almost every episode. I think it's just to well round the episode.
     
    Giovanni was just built up to be the antagonist. But he isn't around very much any more. He did have a way bigger role in the first season but now he is just a shadowy character. I don't think that Ash and co even know about him
     
    Well, it was a cold, rainy night in Chicago and his mom was in a great deal of pain. He was chaaargin' through and-----(skip that)

    Young Giovanni grew up in a log cabin in the the middle of New York City. As he grew older, he got invlved with 'The Mob' and became leader after the Mob Boss was shot by another Mob Boss.

    He then formed Team Rocket and later met -insert random woman's name here- and they went to a bar and BAM! Silver(not me) was made into an embryo(Yay me.)

    She died in labor and Giovanni was all 'Lets name him Silver!!111 OMG!!!1111!7' and two years later, Silver was snatched by a giant bird. He's been gone twelve years.

    Giovanni has now found Silver, but Silver was turned to stone. He now spends his days making sandwhichs while wearing a suit.

    O.o...Are you kidding? Lol, that was pretty funny, especially the part with "...and BAM! Silver (not me) was made..." I lol'd so hard at that :P. Anyways, were you being serious?
     
    ^ xD Some of it. I'm going by manga in that, though. He does have a son -pokes avatar- who was taken by a large bird(Ho-oh) and has been gone from him for about twelve years. And they did reunite briefly, but Silver was turned to stone(along with Yellow, Green, Red, and Blue).

    But some of that was just made-up. You did say to enlighten you. xD

    Edit: And in my fic, he is making sandwhichs while wearing a suit...although, Silver's not stone anymore.
     
    To add, he did apparently inherit Team Rocket (at least, in the anime) from his mother (and the founder, if I recall correctly), Madam Boss.

    Not sure if that's true in any other canon, though.

    Oh, believe me, Ash and co. (at least, Ash, Misty and Brock know about him, I can't exactly say the same for May, Max, Tracey, and Dawn, though.) know about him. Misty saw him very briefly in Butch and Cassidy's debut episode, and plus, Ash and co. met him in the special "Mewtwo Returns.".

    By the Anime's backstory, he is the current tyrant of the Team Rocket Empire (Yes, it was actually called that, at least in the junior novelizations, though those aren't exactly canon.), where his Mom, Onna Boss, was the previous tyrant, and apparantly doesn't have a good relationship with his Mom (Though I'm not entirely sure if the Radio Drama is 100% canon. I mean, the Mewtwo's birth TV special seemed to mention that Giovanni was the guy who first got some people to go on an expedition for Mew, which wouldn't make sense if Onna Boss was the first Rocket Boss (and the first one to hold an expedition.).).

    Also, he is a candidate for Ash's father (though I don't think he is his father, considering how he didn't recognize his own son, which a father would be able to, if not completely do so, then at least slightly recognise him.), and, if that cameo of the red-haired rival in the Legend of Thunder Special is anything to go by, then he may also have a son by the name of Silver/Kamon/whatever his name was.

    By the games backstory, he is the first boss of Team Rocket (though I don't think that they mentioned that he was first, though.), and apparantly, has a son by the identity of the G/S/C rival, if what that scientist said is anything to go by. Also, I'm pretty sure he delights in murdering pokemon, considering how he allowed some of his agents to kill a Marowak.

    for the Mangas, well that depends on which Mangas you're referring to. If your meaning Pokemon special, he was an archaeologist and his son is silver, he also was nearly killed, and apparantly, he wanted to see his son, Silver, in the FR/LG arc since he was dying. In the Pikachu manga, well, he seemed to be a comic relief character.

    anyways, that's all for now.
     
    Yeah, the Butch and Cassidy episode basically gave away they had a boss that they were working for. XD
