4th Gen Gold comparison

The new Gold is so much better. So what if his face makes him look sweet and innocent? His outfit still looks nice. I wouldn't like if they kept the same design of the old gold. (I've seen people make good sprites of him with his old outfit, and I did not like it.) I'm glad they changed it. I really like his new shorts. I wish more male trainers wore shorts instead of pants. xD

I agree, having shorts instead of longer pants is a bit nice for change. Though, if the old Gold was kept the same now but drawn with the new style of art, he would have still had a different apperance than before, even if he kept his old style exactly like how it was 10 years ago.

Well as Nintendo says the graphics would be changed to look like alot in Pokemon Diamond Pearl and Platinum... And they would add some designs in every Town and in every City.

I like the new Gold. Everything about him is in some way or another, better. But if stop and look at them, they look really, really similar. They haven't done much to him anyway.

Of course they look similar they are the same person, except the new Gold just has some new features to him like the game has new features compared to the older version.

I thought the old Gold looked like such a little punk, and I loved it.
But I absolutely love the new Gold's design. Those new shorts are love<333

Either way, old Gold would win in a fight. I don't mean a pokemon battle, I mean a ligit fight. But I still prefer the new version.

I remember the old gold looked like short and kinda fat.. anyone agree? and the new one is alittle taller in size and alittle skinner.. but both of them are the same character.

I wouldn't say the old Gold was short and fat, he was more bulky as in they brought out his muscular look in him more than what they did now.

Yeah i like the character would be hot :3.. and the new Character the girl one named Soul is kinda cute too :3

He isn't scrawny, you can't really classify it as that seeing as how Sugimoro's style of art has changed over the years. Before, when it came to drawing the hero of the game he would put more detail into their look and shape of the body, but as time progressed he went more into the style of an anime like drawing making the new Gold look the way he is now. Plus, the new features on him are all part of the modern look they are trying to implement into the remake. For example, the bag he had before, everyone had something like that, but now when you look at people with packs, they are one straped and either across your shoulders or laid arcross your chest like his. Plus, before people would always wear those long socks under their shoes, but now to be more modern people wear the no-show socks to keep up woth the style, and the same goes for the new Gold.

Now, it doesn't depend entirely on the artist, as its the same guy from before. It just depends on what style of art the artist plans on changing to, because if wanted, he could have simply made the old Gold look more realistic now than before, rather than going through the anime look.

i do like the new design a bit more, but the body just seems off- the old one was better

Love the new Gold. I like how his hoodie sleeves don't look all open-ended now. I don't really like how the shorts don't have any yellow on them, but they're still cool. I love how they kept his hat similar! This time, we may even be able to see that red ball design clearly (i could rarely make it out, on the old hat.). Yeah, i love the revamped Gold. He looks somewhat slimmer than the old Gold, but i think that may be because of the close-ended sleeves and shorts, and his simpler shoes. I find it strange that the little tuft of hair doesn't come out of the hole in the hat, though. Meh.

I like the new design, but it would be way better without the collar extending from under his visible hood. He could also could use either more gold or white throughout his look like his original design. Maybe some gold somewhere on the shorts, but not entirely like his original design.

I wouldn't want his shorts and hat to be too much of yellow and black like the original anyway. He looks more of like a bumblebee style before than he does now. Though, the extended color could have been slightly shortended, because I agree, it is is a little much.
