i actually prefer the crystal version, but i do like the gold version as well, compared to the silver version.

When I was a child I picked out Gold Version because my friend had it and I wanted the same game as him. Now that I'm older and have played both I actually prefer Silver over Gold.

I don't really have a preferred version, but the first time I played, I played Gold because it sounds better than Silver (as in gold is awarded to first and silver to second)

Pokemon Silver was my favorite game when I was really young. I got my Feraligator, Ninetales, and Umbreon to level 100. My Espeon was around the 60's. I had so much time on that game played.

I prefer Silver instead of Gold. Not because of Lugia in the box like many of you mentioned, because most of the Pokemon I prefer to have in my party are exclusive to Silver. Lanturn and Skarmory are both only available to Silver, which is why I do not prefer to play Gold.

Can't really say, because the deciding factor always has to do with the sprites of the Pokemon. Because there are some Silver sprites that I like better and some Gold sprites that I like better. So it's really even for me :I.

So it comes down to which exclusive move you wanted really. I always owned both versions of gen 1 and 2 games. Now the only way to have Aeroblast or Sacred Fire was to play the version with mascot on it. I personally found Ho-oh's exclusive move to be better as Sacred Fire was based off of Special Attack. However I liked the other version exclusive Pokemon in Silver better. I believe it was because Silver had the same set of gen 1 exclusives as Blue more or less and I always took the Blue exclusives over the ed exclusives.
Overall both are great games and I always played both back to back or traded between versions with myself. So I'll say Silver just because I found the title screen cooler.

I have to say Gold on this one.
But that's mainly because Gold was the Pokemon game I had and loved the most. I didn't get Silver until years later.

I'd say Gold, since Ho-Oh is better than Lugia IMO XD

Never owned Gold. So I'd say Silver. They're both pretty similar though, I'd prefer either of them to Crystal.

Yeah, I played Silver first, and it was easier to catch Ho-oh in that game, so I like Silver more.

Pokémon Silver, with the simple reason that that was the version I chose when the games first came out. In retrospect, I probably should have chosen Gold, because now I like Ho-oh so much more. XD

I like Silver better.
I like Ho-oh, but Lugia is better.

Both internal batteries are dry on my Gold and Silver, and I broke my Crystal while doing some... experimenting. I am REALLY craving Gen II right now!

I always liked Silver more - the version exclusives as well as better sprites on some Pokemon. :p
