4th Gen Good fighting Pokemon early in game?

Alright, I've already gotten my 3rd badge and I'm looking for a good fighting pokemon around this time. I intend on using them just for the adventure/storyline (I don't really competitively battle). Here are two pokemon I've been looking at:

Gallade: I can get a Ralts soon, evolve to Kirlia, and with a Dawn Stone in Route 212 I can get a Gallade. It's got nice attack but a terrible defense and it may not be speedy enough

Heracross: This I can get on honey trees (albeit it has a low encounter rate so it might take me forever to get one). Heracross seems to be a good all-rounder for everything

I started with Piplup so no way of getting an Infernape, and I can't trade right now so I can't really get a Machamp

just north of orburge city you can find Machop, and you can find Meditite in severasl differnt places theres also Croagunk that apears in the great marsh,

Gallade's the way to go.

You could wait until Iron Island to get Riolu, because everybody and their mom thinks this thing's more powerful than Jesus. :P

Umm...Heracross is also very useful :S

I wouldnt count out Machoke/Macamp. It has good stats and is caught pretty early on.

Wait until you get to the Great Marsh and grab a Croagunk.

dunno really but i would go with gallade if u know ev training train it in attack and speed the it will be fast enough. or like other members have said get a machoke or a grokunk.

In game teams don't matter. It's up to you which one you want to use.
