Got myself some boxes

After pokemon go my inner child made me go buy 3 booster packs and open them right away. Such fun!!! :D no rare cards tho :) Havent looked into pokemon cards since 2000. Watched all episodes like 6 years ago.

Now that im grown up i have money for lots of cards so ordered a booster box 36 pack fates and pre-ordered 2x booster boxes steam siege. Im gonna open fates and one of the steam. Think ill save the 2nd steam box for rainy day. Got most of the basic tgc stuff lying somewhere.

Now, do u have any tips for a starting collector? Is it worth saving boxes, packs, tins, unopened? I will get atlest 2x boxes from each NEW expansion and the theme decks.

Well, it depends on what you want to do while collecting. Do you like to open packs and see what individual cards you've got? If you do, do that. Booster boxes get more valuable unopened, but they don't accrue value quickly, and they suffer a temporary sag in value if the set they're in is no longer legal in the Standard format for competitive play.

Are you looking to play or just to collect? Do you want ideas for storage techniques?

One thing I've got to say for sure is this: collecting the Pokemon TCG is not going to be a profitable venture. You'll just have to assume that. Collect because you want to, not because you're making an investment.

If i have something valuable i dont wanna keep ill sell it and buy other packs :pBut the info about sets having banned cards can drop in value was good info :) i will play tcg aswell.
I came across 20 kinda cheap generations boister packs
2usd each. Seems like a good price for that set?

Those are almost certainly fake lel. Generations packs on their own are worth more than the average pack because you can't get them outside of special collections
