    While posting in another thread, I got to thinking about the music from gen I and II and how it just had that feel about it. This thread hasn't been done in a little while, so why not?

    I don't know about you all, but this music really set the, "...it's about to go down!" tone when I was younger. Something about the 8-bit music in the first couple generations still just resonates with me. It just seems so dramatic, while still being cartoonish and fun. I love it.

    So, what was your favorite chiptune music from the first two generations?

    Clearly mine is posted above...

    Feel free to provide a video too.
     
    Gen 1: Pretty much everything due to the nostalgia. If I were to pick only one that will be the Gym Leader battle.

    Gen 2: The Champion battle. Very intense.

    I totally forgot about the Silph Co. music! That's usually one that sticks in my mind. You just spend so much time in there; the little tune starts getting stuck in your head.

    That, and Pokémon Tower, of course.



    It's just so creepy...
     
    I'm essentially covering the R/B/Y era. (Sorry G/S/C.)

    Lavender Tower
    Celadon Casino
    Rocket HQ
    Indigo Plateau
    Champion Theme

    When I was playing Red the birthday after it came out, I was gradually comforting myself by memorizing town themes or some such and end up whistling them for years to come.
     
    I might be among a minority here, but I've always really liked these:





    There are the expected battle themes and such, but no one ever seems to bring stuff like these tunes up... :)

    I associate the music from Dark Cave with Ice Path and have terrible memories with that ice puzzle. :|

    I used the Versus Books guides when I was a kid, mostly because I really loved their books back then, so I don't have those memories to poison the music! :)
     
    Same for me loving Dark Cave. I always find it very catchy.

    Although I haven't played Crystal, the Suicune theme is really awesome too.
     
    Oh, riiight, Crystal counts as 'Metal + Colour', so I forgot about Suicune theme.
     
    That one was indeed great, although it played during the battles of all three Legendary Beasts in Crystal. It was so refreshing and exciting when you were hunting them on the Routes, and all of a a sudden, that music would play instead of the usual random battle theme~ :3

    "Come on already... *random battle; special music* OOOOOOOH!"
