Gotta poke 'em all!

Arguably the best feature in the entirety of Pokémon Go is the ability to tap on your Pokémon's image on their stat page and they'll do a cute little animation for you. Now that you know this I'm going to assume it'll be what you spend 90% of your time doing on Go so start paying attention to their animations and tell me which are the best! Do you prefer the cute ones or the tough ones, the cool ones or the quirky ones? Which Pokémon has your favourite animation when you poke them?

If anyone knows how to record these animations and can tell me then I will love you forever js.

Snorlax, hands down. It's perfect. Elegant. Masterful. Beautiful. Ravishing... I could go on. I love my Snorlax.

Makes me wish they'd incorporate Pokémon Amie into it somehow.

Dang it now I need to somehow find a wild Snorlax just to test this out. Though I find it tough to imagine a Snorlax being the majority of those words.

My favourite hands-down is Sandshrew. If you guys happen to have a spare Sandshrew laying around then give him a poke and you'll see how amazing it is. He's so cute and then so badass and ah I love him ♥ Also a special shout out goes to Venonat for the cute little jump he does at the end of his animation. I totally don't spend hours doing all of these.

After poking a bit, I like Bellsprout's animation. His head inflation technique is definitely on point here.

Oh god I just checked out Bellsprout that is hilarious. What on earth is it doing?? I'm like 90% sure that's bugged or something because that is not natural pahaha.

Also just checked out Oddish and it's a proper little rock star with its head banging skills ♥

Paras' is really, really cute. Lickitung's is phenomenal.

But I'll go contrarian here and vote for Porygon. It's impossibly acrobatic and mind-bending, as only Porygon could be.

It's hard to explain. He sortof does a backflip, spinning his feet in the opposite direction and twisting his head up under himself. It's wild and geometrical.

Gengar so far has my favorite animation of all the pokemon I've collected. Whenever I look at his beefy stat page (CP 840 and climbing) I always give him a little poke and he does that awesome huge open smile, flashes his tongue in an intimidating manner and then chomps his teeth closed quick and savagely. He looks super spooky and really cool. Gengar is such a boss.

I can just imagine the kind of grin he'd give and that does sound pretty great - he's such a cool Pokémon in terms of personality so I'm very glad they gave him this kind of animation haha.

GUYS I CAUGHT A DIGLETT AND IT'S THE CUTEST THING EVER OMG. Anyone who has a Diglett go and poke it now you won't regret it! He's like "grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!" and it's so ahhhh ♥

I'm really surprised you haven't seen an Oddish though. They're all over the place where I live. Maybe it's more wooded here? I dunno. But many Oddish and even Gloom every once in a while.

I live in a wooded area too but unfortunately they just don't seem to like this village. It's annoying because Oddish is one of my favourites and now that I've heard it has a cute animation I just have to catch one! Heading into a different part of the town tomorrow so we'll see what's around there... maybe I'll get lucky! And trust me no one expected you to know ;)

With the amount of time this site keeps going down each day I can't imagine that it would support gifs being posted on the forum and taking up space.

I have yet to catch a Sandshrew so I will be looking forward to seeing that one.

Aw I want to see this, I love that they'd do something like that for Pikachu it's a very cool easter egg haha.

Just caught a Vulpix today and omg hers is cute, definitely recommend checking her out if anyone has one. She looks so firm and angry with you it's just ahh ♥
