Talentless Nana - Summary
So, this was another thing I watched as a suggestion. I went into this completely blind, so suffice to say the surprise at the end of episode one was definitely a surprise. From that point on, things got interesting. But, fair warning, spoilers ahead.
The animation, audio and performances were all solid. Nothing incredibly standout, but far from being bad. I actually watched this one dubbed which is something I don't do very often and was pleased to find the quality was solid. Kyouya and Jin's VAs especially did good work.
Over all, this was a fun watch that only got better as it went on, eventually ending on a huge note that still leaves a lot unsaid. I hope there's a s2 in the near future otherwise I might have to look for English manga copies because there's so much story clearly left untold.

Spoiler:
So, the story. Simple enough, Nana has no superpowers but is sent to an island school of superpowered people to kill the students. Along the way, she gets caught up in a cat-and-mouse game with a student who is not only smarter than her (to the point of being weirdly hypercompetent) but also straight unkillable. Literally, that's his power.
Along the way, she also start to develop a bit of a crisis because she starts making friends with one of her potential victims, Michiru, because she's just so damn kind. We get little bits of hints towards further plot and the like too, but the anime doesn't cover the whole story. We can hope for a second season perhaps.
As far as the writing goes, it's mostly pretty good. Kyouya's hyper-competence is a bit bothersome, but he's a cool character and he provides a fascinating obstacle for Nana. Michiru is just fantastic over all. Jin is really interesting too. Nana herself starts off pretty meh. She's a pretty bad covert killer honestly. Her first victim makes her immediately suspect and her next two don't help. She gets better further on and also starts developing a lot more as a character which is great. The episodes from roughly 5 onwards brought the show up a rung or two.
