Grasping for the Light: A Teen Titans Roleplay

Elie sighed as she bid her sister farewell. She would be gone for a fairly long time. She watched as her figure disappeared and sighed once more. She grabbed her backpack afterwards and ran outside.

Once she was outside, she tried her best to avoid some people, for she hated seeing others' memories. She wasn't successful, though. A lady accidentally touched her face. She saw the woman faint, and knew exactly what happened to her, she would be in a comma for a day or so.

Illusion sighed after a minute of thought, mapping out her plan to steal the gem.
She arose, and started walking out of the shadowy allyway, out onto the street.

Skye went for a walk after her snack, looking around suspiciously, but trying not to look obvious. She had a growing worry that something big was going to happen soon...and it wasn't a good thing.

Before she had left, she threw on her black pea coat, which was long enough to hide the two pairs of numchaku that hung from her belt. She ran a few errands, like going to the grocery store, and mailing a few letters, and her journey took her to the city park.

She sat down on a bench for a while, watching people walk by. Nothing sparked her curiosity, but she lingered a while longer.

Illusion soon passed by a person who looked alot like the girl she had met, but didn't exactlly catch a good view of the girl.
Shrugging it off, she prooceeded in walking to the museum, which was just a couple mile away.
"Ventelation shaft... Okay..." She muttered to herself unconciously, eying the looming building that'd she soon pay a 'visit' to.

Skye spotted Illusion walking past her in a rather sinister manner. She decided to follow her, using her skills she had learned in Ninjitsu to be as stealthy and unheard as possible. She noticed Illusion looking at a vent shaft to a jewelry store, and everthing began to click.

With a loud THUMP, she landed beside Illusion, her face drawn expressionless so she didn't give anything away.

"Hi," she said softly. "I saw you passing by...how's it going?"

She jumped as she paused her stare at the museum shaft, looking at the speaker widely.
"Oh, hi... Skye..." She said smoothly. Drat it, she saw!

OOC: Oops....heh sorry! Thought it was a jewelry store....

IC: Skye smiled a little, trying to reassure Illusion that it was okay. Her body was tense though, which Skye was sure didn't rub off as reassuring.

"Er...whatcha up to?" she asked, glancing at the vent shaft.

She sighed, knowing that Skye was obviously one of the 'good' guys.
"Oh, nothing." She turned away from it, a faint trace of a smile plastered on her face.
Not today... Not when she has seen.

"Oh....alll right," Skye said, trying to sound cheerful. She took one last glance at the vent shaft, and looked back at Illusion. "Er...want to go grab an ice cream or something? My treat, since you helped get rid of that creep back at the school..."

She trailed off, hoping Illusion wouldn't think she was a loony.

OOC: Loony is a fun word....even more fun to say! *dances around singing "looooony!!"*

"Oh, uh...." Illusion looked genuinelly (Spelling?) suprised that someone had asked her that sort of thing, as her icy exterior didn't earn her too many friends.
"Well... Okay." She stammered, after a second of thought.

OOC: Now that you speak of it, it is! Loony, loony, loony.... Loony. XD

OOC: We're crazy....O_O

IC: "Cool," Skye said, and led her out of the alley.

There was a small, retro ice cream parlor down the street, the owners Skye knew personally. She had been going to this parlor for ice cream since she moved to the city. The interior of the store was nothing short of intruiging. The floor was checkered black and white tiles, the booths bright red, and a bar stood on the right side of the room, by the door, for ice cream...no alcohol of course!

Skye took a seat at the bar, glancing around at the various neon signs that decorated the walls. Old Coca cola signs dotted here and there, a few street signs, and pictures of old cars were scattered about the walls as well.

"I'll have a mint chocolate chip dish, if you don't mind?" Skye said, smiling across the bar at the rather handsome waiter person. She looked over at Illusion, waiting for her to order as well.

Eying her surroundings, not with distaste, but rather with intrest, she snapped her attention back to Skye.
"Oh... I'll take the...." She glanced at the menu briefly, going over the flavors and types of ice cream, and after looking at each item the adoloscent then said, "I'll take the chocolate bananza.".

"Good choice," Skye smiled, "but I've never been able to finish one of those on my own!"

She chuckled, and the waiter left to fill their orders. She twiddled her thumbs for a few moments, wondering what to talk about. She certainly didn't want to talk about what she suspected Illusion of doing. Instead, she tried something a little more neutral.

"So..." she began. "Where you from?"

"Ah... Well..." She stared up at the ceiling. Should she tell this to a complete stranger, and possibly, a enemy?
"I don't know. I've lived here all of my life. My... Parents never told me." Said Illusion slowly, and then, remembering the sister she had lost, due to her so-called parents' 'business'.

"Ah, I see," Skye said thoughtfully, as their waiter brought them their ice cream. She thanked him politely. "I'm from away, but I moved here a few years ago. My parents still live at my old house though. They sent me to the city when I was thirteen."

She said the last bit a little melancholy, but tried to brighten up. She wasn't sure why she was so open about explaining her strange living situation, but it had just blurted itself out.

"Do you go to school?" she asked.

She thanked the waiter with a nod of her head, and dipped her spoon into her ice cream.
Her face darkened as she remembered her parents, the cause of her leaving school, so that they couldn't track her...
"I don't anymore. Yes, I still know my ABCs and all..." She laughed dryly, and then, swallowing a bit of the cold substance, she said,

"See... My parents gave my little sister away. Then, they threatened to send me away, and I..." The girl drifted off at that, though usally showing a bit bitter outside, she did have a place in her heart for younger children. Her sister taught her that, though she herself didn't realize it...

Illusion averted her gaze from Skye's at that point.
Her sister's loss... That what made her what she was today.

"I don't have any siblings," Skye admitted quickly, trying to get Illusion's mind off an obviously touchy subject. She hoped she hadn't offended her. "If I did, I suppose I'd miss being home, but I don't. It is lonely around my apartment though. I'm thinking about getting a pet...maybe a dog or something..."

She took another bite of her ice cream, smiling at the sharp mint flavor in her mouth. Deep down, she knew that Illusion was up to no good, but she hoped that it was perhaps because she hadn't made many friends. Perhaps she would be interested in turning over a new leaf...?

"Man...this stuff is so good!" she said happily.

OOC: Do we get to meet and interact with the actual Teen Titans, Andra? ^_^

OOC: Oh yes! Of course! ^^

IC: Illusion nodded at her, then smiled a bit as she tasted the chocolaty food once more, this time, it warming her up a bit, though it was cold...

"I guess it is." She said in her usal tone, looking down at her ice cream, which was now only half eaten, though with a bit of happiness welling up inside her, thoug she knew that she shouldn't be interacting with the 'enemy'.
But maybe this once...

OOC: Awesome! ^^ Where is everyone else though...? It's kinda weird with just us two...

IC: "Well," Skye said, pushing her now empty dish away. "I had better get going home to do some homework."

She scrunched up her face at the mention of homework. Needless to say, she wasn't looking foward to it, even though she was a good student, and always managed to get her work done on time.

"Maybe I'll see you around again?" she asked, as she got up from her stool.

Elie hummed cheerfully as she made her way to an ice cream parlor. She ordered a chocolate sundae and sat in a chair near two other girls. Since she had a very friendly personality, she waved at both of them then started eating her sundae.

After glancing around the room, she sighed, she wasn't used to being alone. She then stood up and walked out the exit. There was a bench just outside the ice cream parlor and, seeing that nobody was sitting there, she sat there and continued wating her ice cream.
