Greetings from a newbie

Hello, my name is Rojse. I'm interested in learning how to hack Emerald, with the goal of creating an open-world Pokemon game within the confines of Pokemon Emerald. Not sure whether I'll keep the map of Pokemon with some minor edits or if they'll be more drastic changes. We'll see how it works out.

My scripting skills are pretty terribad, but guessing that this site should have tutorials and tools to help teach me what I want to know.

Welcome to PC Rojse! I'm sure everyone in the ROM Hacking section will be happy to help with your hack. So, what are your favourite Pokemon?

Thank you. I'm going to do my best to familiarize myself with the program as much as I can before bothering people with more serious scripting ideas.

Favourite Pokemon - Ariaidos, Flygon, Gardevoir, Salamence, a bunch of others as well, but those are probably the standouts.

I might well hit you up if I'm after some specific sprites, but I'd first like to do some work myself to demonstrate that this is a long-term project, rather than a temporary whim.

An open world Pokémon fame sounds awesome! I'd definitely be interested in seeing a project like that come to fruition. Been a while since I played a fangame but I used to be addicted during those days. Something like an open game would have been awesome to play.
