In fact, we have those two forums where you can do just that. The Trade Corner as well as the Competitive Battling Center.

Welcome to the forums! Since you shared your FC here, I bet you want to take advantage of online features, huh? As Meganium has said, the two forum sections mentioned, Trade Corner and the CBC are your best places to conduct trades and battles respectively. Just go to wherever that matches what you want to do, and take a look around! I'm sure that you'll know more that way, what with hands-on experience... XD

It would be best if your Friend Code is more advertised than just posting it in a certain thread or to your profile info, so as what as the two members above me suggested, put it on your signature! :) .. Also, you could do a lot of things here aside from battling and trading you could also join certain discussions about Pokemon, so take your time to explore the forum as a whole I'm sure you'd also find something interesting here aside from your usual ones! :P
Plus, you could also make a whole bunch of friends here! Since your really into the trading and battling scene, I'm sure it would be very easy for you to make friends as there are a lot of members into trading and battling as well!
