GS Ball

    I was wondering, what ever happened to the GS Ball? There were rumors to what was inside the ball (celebi was the first rumor) and how to open it but I never got to see what actually happened to it.
     
    They purposely "forgot" about it hehe. It's explained in this interview

    What's the deal with the GS Ball? As I said "GS Ball," he shook his head and started to laugh, embarrassed. He stated "You're very sharp (for us remembering that, I guess)" and began to explain it contained a Gold and Silver monster. I asked him if Celebi was in the Ball (since you use it to summon Celebi in the Japanese games), and at first he paused, as if he shouldn't say, but then said "Yes." He explained that the writers were originally going to have a whole story about Celebi in the show with Ash and crew, and he made it sound as if the story was more important than the Ball's function of getting Ash to move around (in fact, he only briefly mentioned the latter part; he was emphasizing the existence of the story more than anything). But, they decided to save Celebi for the movie instead, which is why that plot hole was just left there. He said the writers didn't know what to do with the Ball after they made their decision, so they were hoping fans would just forget about it all together when Ash and crew left it with Kurt. My impression of what he was saying was that it was all just poor planning. I asked if we would ever see the GS Ball again, and he said no. I think we can safely say the GS Ball case is closed now."

    It's kinda funny seeing how watchers are still thinking 'bout GS Ball...
    Maybe authors should've used the GS Ball in the movie...
     
    We are very sharp! Nobody can fool us lol :P! We still remember GS ball and will come in their dreams to haunt them for not showing its secret!! HA HA!(A bad joke I know!)

    Nope. It's only remembered now as a plot filler by most.

    You know, I know he said that they won't focus on it anymore, but then again, he's not really in a position to deny that now (He hasn't been the Director of Pokemon since Season 9, so he doesn't have a say in what will or what won't happen. Even if he was the Director, he might lie about it anyways, like he did to 4kids about Ash's father appearing.)

    Well she didn't really have to find anything. Almost every up-to-date Pokemon fan knows about that interview. It's just that these forums here are a bit out of wack.

    Thats true,
    Maybe they'll show the GS ball in the 13th movie or if Ash ever goes back to Johto for a Battle Frontier then he'll probably run into it I guess

    That's true. It only affects this forum though for some reason.

    Let's just hope they don't re-introduce it in the next filler saga.
     
    I figure they may use it to make a new Johto arc to coincide with HG/SS, where they have to go back and retrieve the ball. We all knew it had to do with Celebi for ages.
     
    What episode does ash meet his father. I have not seen an ep since ash vs'd the Rock gym in Diamond & Pearl and i didnt see all the eps in that season and the season before

    Y'know, the thing that got me about the ball was that Ivy and her assistants claimed to try to do everything to open the ball, but did anybody ever try just throwing it?

    Anyway, I think that if the anime does indeed revisit Johto, as the next movie seems to suggest, that'd be a perfect opportunity to revisit the GS Ball. Funny how they hoped viewers would "just forget," too bad for them we're smarter than they hoped...

    Anyways, I'm sure they've tried throwing it, which is why they moved on to trying to open it with those machines and stuff. Though it's beyond me why they would want to throw a Pokeball made out of gold and silver lol.

    Also, if you read the interview that someone already posted up here, it says the only reason the gs ball was created was because that was how they were going to introduce Celebi. But since they waited for the 4th movie to introduce it, the gs ball was pointless. There is no reason for it to exist anymore. The guy in the interview said he'd hoped people would forget about it, because they were never planning on revistiting it's existence.

    I think it's funny how they had hoped we'd forget. Isn't it good to know that the producers see us as oblivious idiots without brains? Har har.
