Since Pokemon Movie 13 is about Ho-Oh vs. Lugia does that mean ash returns to johto after the sinnoh series? if he does do you think the secrets of the GS ball will finally be revealed?

The GS Ball was merely a plot device used to give Ash & Co. an excuse to go to the Orange Islands [Prof. Ivy] and Johto [Kurt]. It was then written off of the show when it was given to Kurt. Note: Celebi was used in the 4th movie but was planned to be in the GS Ball orginally.

    In short, it's not likely.

Well its probable the will return, but not for long. They returned to Kanto for the Battle Frontier after FR/LG. SO its possible, but its to far off to say.

Yeah that's right, but maybe they will use GS ball again in Johto Battle Frontier or something. I hope.

Well, they did have Ash's Thunderstone (something even less significant) reappear despite eleven years having gone by real time, so there is a chance that the GS Ball will also appear.

Maybe, but it was never explicitly stated that the Thunderstone would not reappear. Look at the interview here

I don't really buy Masamitsu Hidaka's comments with the future, seeing how he not only is not a high-ranking person involved in the Anime anymore (he got demoted from Directorship to Storyboard Artist when the Battle Frontier Saga ended), but he has also shown himself to not be competent in very important or obvious details (eg, he had absolutely no idea about Platinum's creation despite Corocoro, Pokemon Sunday, and even the Anime creators themselves basically leaking any information as they can. Plus, he didn't seem to know about the whole issue involving the VA switch despite not only being the director at the time (and thus, in direct contact with NOA/PUSA), but he and his writing staff were also involved in the special where the VA Switch was made public: "Mastermind of Mirage Pokemon"). Besides, any person who lies about their own creation or makes false promises under any circumstances isn't trustworthy (He and his writing staff told 4Kids that Ash's dad would be appearing in Master Quest, going by the Third Movie Commentary, and yet he never appeared or even got mentioned.).

I've always wondered what the GS in GS ball stood, the only think I could think of was Gold and Silver since that was the name of the games coming out next at the time and since it's gold on top and silver on the bottom.

This. I'm sick of people citing that interview as a canon source of information for the future, when he barely seemed to know what he was talking about.

I hope they do wrap up the GS Ball story. I mean, one episode would be nice. Hell, it could even be the excuse to go to Johto again.

A storyline based around the return of the GS Ball into the anime coinciding with the soon to be released G/S remakes would be something surprising, wouldn't it?
It's possible but I'm not sure they'll do it...

Yes, I agree. It doesn't necessarily have to be a whole Arc. An episode with a decent enough explaination should be good enough for us.

And thanks for agreeing with me. I never believed most of the so called "future statements" that he said. The only ones I ever believed in were the reasons why Brock and Tracey were removed/conceived/brought back, the GS Ball's original purpose/scrapment (though not necessarily the whole "it won't return" issue.), and the part about the REAL reason why Misty was removed, and May and Dawn were conceived/thrown away (then again, I already deduced that was the case long before he even confirmed it, so technically, I don't actually "believe" his word [in order for me to "believe" it, I would not have known about it beforehand, and after knowing it's existance, start blindly stating it as truth.])

    What's GS Ball??????????????????????

The GS Ball is a gold and silver Poké Ball that doesn't open.

Most of the people who watch Pokemon probably weren't even born when the GS Ball was in the series, so I don't think the writers will bring it back...

Most of the same people also weren't even born when Ash captured Caterpie, released Butterfree to be with it's mate, Ash beat Lt. Surge, Ash tried to use a Thunderstone, got Charmander, Brock had Onix, and any of that, and did that stop the writers from referencing those events (and in the case of Ash's Thunderstone, actually have it reappear despite full knowledge of barely anyone being born at the time when Ash got it).

The GS Ball isn't going to brought up again since there is no reason to bring it up. Since the writers used Celebi in the 4th movie, there's nothing that can be used to have it mentioned again. The reason they brought back the Thunder Stone was to show that Pikachu won't evolve and because Ash still had it.

It wasn't even really implied to have Celebi in it, so I don't see the problem with changing the story to give it some other purpose. I don't see why Celebi being in the 4th Movie is even relevant. Celebi was also in two unrelated anime episodes after the 4th movie, so I don't see how it being in a movie makes it off-limits for future episodes. Hell, Celebi could be in the ball. It's a time-traveler. The Celebi we've seen could easily have been from the past or future, while the Celebi in the present could have been in the GS Ball all along.

It could be a really good plot, but I'm not holding my breath. Just saying it could happen, and that no one should be stating it won't or can't as if it is a fact.

    Hidaka Masamitsu confirmed it.

Because that's what was planned to be in the GS Ball. Since Celebi was used in the 4th movie, Celebi wouldn't be used as a plot device.

Celebi was used. The GS Ball wasn't. The GS Ball served its purpose as a reason to go to Johto and wouldn't be used now. Why? Because the Battle Frontier in Johto would be the reason to promote HeartGold and SoulSilver, which would be outdated by the time the Sinnoh League is over meaning they might not even use Johto.

Hell, Celebi could be in the ball. It's a time-traveler. The Celebi we've seen could easily have been from the past or future, while the Celebi in the present could have been in the GS Ball all along.

Speculation. Just because it could doesn't mean it is. As stated by Hidaka, the ball was dropped because it served its purpose.

It could be a really good plot, but I'm not holding my breath. Just saying it could happen, and that no one should be stating it won't or can't as if it is a fact.

As stated above, the GS Ball served its only purpose. Just because Hidaka "...Barely seemed to know what he was talking about." doesn't mean he didn't.

Anyway, if you have a conversation with the current Director or another person of higher position, then or now, then post it. Why? Because someone who worked on the show has more "legitimacy" concerning the show's future than a fan who doesn't trust him. If the GS Ball ever does return, I'll admit being wrong.

First of all, I really WISH they'd never created that stupid GS Ball arc, because THAT'S ONE OF THE REASONS WHY SO MANY PEOPLE HATE JHOTO! And that's probably one of the reasons they got rid of Misty, to get away from that saga.

Second, no. He pretty much had no clue. Because they didn't follow through with the GS Ball arc. So of course he didn't know anything.

Actually, in his case, he has about as much legitimacy as a fan in regards to the show's future.

I mean, I already covered how he had absolutely no idea that there was going to be a Platinum version made, despite literally everyone and their brother in Japan knowing about it via Corocoro, Pokemon Sunday, and even Movie 11, so I won't cover that.

However, it did occur to me that he did not know squat about the VA change, and that happened around Season 9, where he was still the director. When WPM asked him about his viewpoint about the VA switch, not only was he upset, but he was completely surprised that it even happened (I mean, don't get me wrong, he'd still be upset even IF he knew, but his being surprised at this would imply that he knew nothing about it.).

I mean, if he were only just a low-level employee, that's one thing. But he was the director, who is one of the few people in a TV show with an international fanbase to actually have meetings with people in outside branches of the same franchise. In other words, when they made MMOMP (Which, contrary to popular belief, WAS made by the Japanese at least in a partial sense.), he and the others would discuss how to do things, and he would thus already know about the VA switch, because that would have been one of the things discussed due to the special being the first time that the new VAs made their debut.

That alone proves that he doesn't even know about his own franchise even when he was a director (and it would have been a very important and obvious thing to know about, since he and his writing staff helped with the making of that special.). If you honestly think he's more trustworthy about the future than your typical fan, or more knowledgable about it, why don't you try and disprove this?

And anyways, not that I particularly think that 4Kids has a good reputation, either, but in the Third Movie commentary, the 4Kids staff mentioned that the Japanese staff had mentioned that Ash's Father would be appearing in season 5, and guess what, he never appeared at all. Heck, he didn't even receive a mention, either, despite us being promised an appearance. Something very similar happened during Comic-Con, where a PUSA representative mentioned that during DP, Ash's father will be introduced, and so far, he hasn't even appeared at all yet.
