^You mean the non-custom colors(the ones at the bottom when you start)? I try not to use many, only red, blue, and maybe light green and light yellow, other than that, I choose the others by hand(Unless one of the other pre-set colors looks good for what i'm doing)

Stop doing recolors. They're nothing special. Focus more on revamps and devamps to get better, then move onto customs or fusions and then customs.
