2nd Gen GSC prone to breaking?

    I don't mean the internal battery. But is it just me or is the Metal generation game cartridge made out of a flimsier substance than the Color generation? My Crystal broken wide open the other day and all 3 of my Silver versions and all 4 of my Gold versions (as well as my other Crystal version) are extremely loose and feel as though they could do the same.

    My Green, Red, Blue, and Yellow Versions are not like this though.
     
    I can't speak for GSC, but my Red and Yellow carts are secondhand, bought years ago, and rock-solid, as is the GameBoy itself. I wouldn't be surprised if they got flimsier with later games. Gotta keep the kiddies buying.
     
    Honestly I've always thought that my GBC Pokemon games were always in better condition than my GBA ones, or maybe its just because I liked those ones better so I kept them in better condition.;)
     
    Oh noes. Mine haven't at all. The only problems ever were with a friend of mine who had internal battery issues, but yeah, nothing psyhical at all with mine.
     
    I got green today and It feels the same flimsyness. I can compare it to my silver If you want... but it feels like its splitting.
     
    If you don't go around dropping your GBA with the game in it, you'll be okay... Now if your internal battery runs out, you can always just get another one ;P

    I've had my Yellow Version since it came out (stepdad bought it for me) and it still works perfectly ^_^
     
    I've had Blue, Yellow (Although i've since lost it) and Gold since they came out and all still work perfectly. Gold's internal battery hasn't ran itself dry yet either which is a surprise as I still play it quite regularly.
     
    I don't have this problem.

    I've compared my Gold to my Red and I've found no difference in durability.

    I didn't know this. My battery in Blue didn't run out, possibly because it's in a plastic case.

    I somewhat feel this flimsiness on my Silver, usually when I'm taking it out of an older, pre-Advance, Game Boy, or my N64 Transfer Pak. I suppose, because they were produced at the end of the original Game Boy's lifetime, they probably used cheaper materials for casing, because Nintendo was focusing on GBC production.
