Given that Sun/Moon is of a new generation, you can't use the GTS to trade between the two (as there'd be compatibility issues with new things and changes made to existing things). The only option is, like in the past, to transfer them up to the newest gen.
Which we'll be able to do via PokeBank/PokeTransporter when that's updated in January or February or whenever it is they're doing that.

I agree. It'll be the first time you can send Pokémon backwards a Generation since they first introduced such a feature in Generation II. It'll be refreshing to see that. Of course, new moves will not be able to be transferred to Pokémon X & Y Versions, and new abilities are going to be likewise the same.
