Wheee I saw this today and was highly entertained tbh. It was gleefully chaotic and took nothing too seriously even when there was the potential for it to go that way and I loved that.
This is probably one of the many reasons I loved it. It was a good mixture of serious action and funny, chaotic comedy. I think I saw a YouTube comment on one of the trailers that said something like "it makes space fun again" and I definitely agree. A lot of space movies in the 90s and 00s were darker and serious, but this was overall a really fun movie, that still had it's serious moments. But even the serious moments were fun. (How Quill distracted Ronan with a "dance-off" to get the orb back for example.)
I've really enjoyed the movie. My hype for it for the past few months were all not in vain.
The soundtrack is really nostalgic, too. My only disappointment (well, not really) was that the post-credit scene didn't really reveal that much.
For someone with Peter Quill as your user name, I expected you enjoyed it. I was indifferent towards the post-credit scene, but they were never really revealed much and more-or-less was justa fun scene they wanted to add for the heck of it. The post-credit scene for the first Avengers movie was just them eating burgers. I was really confused about it though and now want to know about Howard the Duck.
