Oh okay. Neat. I never got into that genre - rhythm based - of games so I don't know all that much about them. Thank you for educating me. Is your avatar a character in that games universe?

In terms of the story, yeah. There was a player character created for the game along with the new idol group introduced in the game, and you play as them. They've still got enough personality to be their own character, you just play the game through their eyes, basically.

Yup, the game is basically based off the whole Love Live anime series, as sort of a crossover thing between the different shows, it features a lot of the music from the entire anime series. The game is pretty directly related to Love Live Nijigasaki specifically, since Nijigasaki is the new group introduced in the game, and the first 17 chapters of the game and the 13-episode anime follow a somewhat similar plot. The game just has characters included from the other shows in the series, while the anime is strictly Nijigasaki.

Basically the short story is I got into another anime series/idol game named Bandori, met my boyfriend through it, and since there were a lot of people who liked both Bandori and Love Live, he was surprised I wasn't already into it (since he was a fan) and told me I'd like it. So we watched the entirety of it together and that was the first time I got into it. I got pretty interested and played the other Love Live game until this one came out, which I've been playing since release.
Hopefully that wasn't confusing to follow?

mean so much to you. Is there any other things that you guys share an interest in?

Absolutely, it definitely does! There are some other anime we've introduced each other to that we'll watch and talk to each other about sometimes, and plenty of games, like the newer Pokemon games he's been a fan of. I think we both enjoy writing too, but he'll write for himself and keep to himself about it while my interest sorta drives it for me.
