Gym Leader Challenge

Here we go again.

Spoiler:

Beat Karate Master with Sonny, taking exactly 0 points of damage due to his immunity to Physical attacks. Sonny also took out the Psychics and their Slowbros, while Vito and Hagen took turns Digging under the ghosts.
As usual, Slash Slash Slash for Sabrina's three. 'Kazam took a few extra hits because of Recover and Kinesis, but he forgot to use any damaging attacks and was subsequently defeated without difficulty.
Ran through Seafoam without bothering to say hi to Artie - I'll beat him up later if I need exp. Leveled up Luca a bit. Sonny took care of all the Swimmers with Thunderbolt and his shiny new Mega Drain.
Taught Vito Rock Slide, did some more leveling in the Mansion, found Blizzard, taught it to Mikey. Evolved Kay and Mikey at lv. 40. Taught Mikey Earthquake and replaced Kay's sole remaining Physical attack with Surf, since switching in HM slaves is a pain and her Special is more helpful than her Attack in this team anyway.
Blaine was a breeze with two Diggers and two Earthquakers. Vito took out the weirdos by the quiz ... vending machine ... speaker ... things, Hagen OHKO'ed each of Blaine's team with Earthquake. Only Ninetales managed to get a hit in with Quick Attack - even Rapidash is too slow for the 'Trio.
That done, I skipped over to the Power Plant to get Thunder, detonate some Voltorbs with Mikey, and OHKO Zapdos with Vito just because I can. :P
Taught Thunder to Mikey - he'll be a solid backup fighter if Sonny or Hagen faint or run out of PP.

Now it's time to take care of this unwise impostor who believes he can run a gym under my name.

I challenged the so-called "Giovanni."
My bravado got the best of me, and I insisted on facing his Pokemon with my own of the same species, regardless of level. Kay was poorly-trained and fell after one attack, but Mikey swiftly avenged her. The impostor tried to intimidate my Poison and Rock types with a barrage of Earthquakes, but in the end Mikey made him an offer he couldn't refuse. The Viridian Gym is now without a leader - perhaps I'll return to fill the position once I've defeated the Elite Four and captured this Mewtwo I keep hearing about.

I traveled Victory Road without catching the eye of a single trainer - I preferred to increase my Pokemon's levels by battling wild Pokemon first.

Luca has brute strength, but I taught him Bubblebeam to make him a little more useful against Rock and Ground types on Victory Road. We then proceeded to face and defeat the trainers we had avoided.

Five trainers now stand between us and world domination. ;)

Lorelei wasn't much trouble. Dewgong and Lapras each fell asleep and took a hit and a half (1 Thunderbolt, 1 Mega Drain) from Sonny, Cloyster and Slowbro took one, Jynx took a few hits from Mikey but hurt him badly.
Healed.
Bruno's Onix couldn't even handle one Bubblebeam from a Kangaskhan. Remind me why Giovanni even bothers having that Pokemon on his list, and how Brock managed to become a gym leader at all?
Fighters were simple, Hypnosis/Dream Eater for all three.
Second Onix took a Mega Drain.

Agatha's always a breeze with a Dugtrio, since the only thing the Ghosts have on Earthquake is a speed advantage over most ground types. Golbat took an Ice Beam.

Lance was a little annoying this time around. Gyarados took one Thunderbolt, Dragonairs took a couple Body Slams each from Luca. Blizzard for Aerodactyl. Dragonite KO'ed a few of my boys but Kay managed to stall until I brought them back. Ice Beam and Blizzard finished it.

Fredo was ... Fredo. Sandslash had a nasty Earthquake for my Poison types, but my Poison types retaliated by icing Sandslash. Alakazam took two hits from Hagen, as usual, without dealing any damage. Magneton was an easy KO with Earthquake. Exeggutor caused grief due to a poor attack choice, and Kay got hurt. Once he was out of the way though, Cloyster took only a Thunderbolt and Gary's starter (Flareon, since I forgot about that second battle) got to face the wrath of my signature Pokemon. The 'Don beat Flareon easily with Dig.
Oak rambled some nonsense about treating your Pokemon with love.

And that was so fun, I did it all over again.
Better strategy and slightly-higher levels than before made it a breeze. Thunderbolts for Lorelei, didn't bother with Hypnosis. Hyper Beam to OHKO Jynx (after taking a hit from Ice Punch). Healed Luca. Bubblebeam for both Onixes, Dream Eater for the fighters. Earthquake for the Ghosts and Arbok, Rock Slide from Vito for the Golbat. Thunderbolt for Gyarados, Hyper Beam for both Dragonairs (second one took Hyper Beam/Bite), then Kay got to show off her moveset against 'Dactyl. Double Team once, took a Hyper Beam all the way down to 14 HP, Rested it off while 'Dactyl recharged, woke up with the Pokeflute, Double Team, dodged a Hyper Beam, Ice Beam. Dragonite didn't come close to hitting her, and Ice Beam froze it solid. Switched Luca in to slowly Bite it down for the extra exp. Healed Luca. Sonny put 'Slash to sleep then drained it dry. Hagen took out Alakazam and Magneton. Mikey took Exeggutor (Blizzard, Earthquake) with only some minor Leech Seed damage, Sonny took Cloyster, Vito took Flareon.
All in all, two Full Restores and a Pokeflute used. All Pokemon at full health or within 20 HP of it by the end. No faints.
Not a bad team, all things considered.

Okai, I'm back to the challenges after some rest and first World Cup matches (South Korea-Greece will be at the moment ;D).

So, I was near the Koga's Gym. But I've taken this long route beetwen Lavender and Fuchsia. It was big pwntime, as in every game. Then, decided to finally knock down Ninjas and Koga. Saffron problems as always at the end. Levels went way up, Giovanni passed to me, Master Ball achieved...but I do not really need them. Some trainers are able to catch Moltres (Blane, Giovanni), why Lt.Surge cannot catch Zapdos? :( Anyway this ball will be for a Magnemite, which I want to catch :D Anyway, Sabrina was next target, Steven eliminated all her fallaz, good for me. Now to Fuchsia, to clean the south water route (good for electric Pkmnz and Dante, they advanced really well here). I've entered the Seaform Islands...
...****, I've lost! xD I've looked for the exit for ages xD I even managed to knock Articuno down. I've wasted some time, but levels were up too. Found way to espace this place and attacked the Cinnabar Island. Finished Mansion quick, and I was attacked by wild Magmar - it was my first time, I was dissapointed a little ;) Steven destroyed whole Cinnabar Gym, now I'm near the Giovanni's door, next update after last training before Elite Four ;)

Back at Virdian...oww, I remmember, when I was here first time. I've got an Oak Parcel and no idea what to do. Now I'm back with tha powerful team, back for eight badge. Nobody survived Ober's comeback. Giovanni decided to escape to his secret place in Romania after our battle. Pedro ran away screaming after our battle. Victory Road was piece of cake, I've lost maybe one Full Heal and Hyper Potion ;) But after that, The Last Grind. It's new tradition for me I guess - ubergrinding to 60 lvls before E4 ;)

So, I've done that. Macintosh and Steven advanced to 60th. Dante, Thunder and Volta trained at Seaform Islands - but I haven't any mood to train them to full 60th. With eight Rare Candies, they advanced to 59th lvls, and I hope that I can smash E4 with this and succesfully finish challenge ;)

Okay, I'm finished :D I've my battles recorded - not too good quality, but they are, so ;)
But I'm not feel this "something" which makes me want to play - it was just very strong team, bulided to gain some power and end challenge, not to do something cool. I like my bugs and grass teams from challenges more than this...but it was fine challenge, I agree ;) I just think, that monotype challenges are funnier than Gym Leader, just because that you have only one type of Pokemons, and it's harder. But I'd really like to do some Gym Leader Challenge again ;)

About battles? No, because I haven't had any faint during the E4, I've used only one Elixer, one Ether, and one Hyper Potion. E4 was so easy :) So there is nothing to talk about. If somebody wants to see it, tell me, I'll upload it somewhere ;)

*Turned Bill into a human again and checked out his sick Eeveelutions.

Diary Entry #1 - Enter Grey!

Hello, my name is Grey, and I live in Pallet Town. Recently there has been a lot going on, it seems like a renowned professor has just finished building his lab here, but he happens to be Fish's grandfather (Fish is a punk from school), so I wasn't too interested in his business here… until this morning. :\

Today my mom woke me up pretty early and told me to go get groceries at Viridian City. I got up and did as I was told, but on my way to Route 1, this crazy old dude just came out of nowhere screaming and telling me that it wasn't safe and that there were Pokémon around. Now I've lived here all of my life, and believe me, a short shopping trip to Viridian City is NOT dangerous, however, if you're screaming at the top of your lungs like this guy was, then OF COURSE you'll bother the local Pokémon, and we got jumped by a Pikachu. :tired:

After the Professor had beaten and caught the thing, I was ready to be on my way, however, he made me follow him into his lab… today's going to be a looong day. :(

Once inside Prof. Oak's lab, I noticed that there was another person waiting in his office. Upon realizing that it was none other than Fish, I kind of wanted to leave, but the professor pestered me into taking a Pokéball from his desk. Tired of the whole thing, and knowing that my mom was waiting for the groceries, I decided to humor the professor and take the ball, but not before that a**hole Fish pushed me out of the way to take it himself.

Upon seeing this, Prof. Oak went ahead and gave me the Pokéball containing the Pikachu from earlier, and it soon became apparent that I had been pulled into a ploy to make me battle Fish.

Don't wanna talk about it… somehow I managed to lose :'(

Seeing how this Pikachu apparently wouldn't go back into his Pokéball, Prof. Oak told me to let it walk around with me; so I waited until I was out of the lab to try and get it to leave. However, it continued to follow me all the way up to Viridian City.

(Note to self, apparently there are level 7 Pidgeys in Route 1 o_0')

Upon reaching Viridian City, I went ahead and entered the PokéMart in order to buy my mom's groceries. However, the clerk got me to take a parcel down to Oak's in the way. Damn it! >.<

After delivering the groceries to my mom, I went ahead and delivered Oak his parcel as well (don't wanna get sued ¬.¬), Fish walked in too, and although I didn't pay much attention to what was said, I am apparently on a mission to complete the Pokédex… I'm definitely going to miss the Tom and Jerry marathon now! :disappoin

Diary Entry #2 - 'The Berries' and the Real Beginning!

After speaking to my mom regarding the manner, I have decided to go ahead with the mission. Truth be spoken, I have always been close to Pokémon throughout my life, and while I am not a fan of the Oak family (especially because of Fish), I have to say that it IS a unique opportunity.

And thus I set off in my journey across Kanto. Upon reaching Viridian City, I decided to visit the outskirts of Route 22. This is the route I'll take to Victory Road if I am a successful trainer, so might as well do some image training. During the visit however, I noticed a pair of Pokémon walking about. Unlike most wild Pokémon who tend to quarrel against those of different species, these two seemed to get along a little too well; and unimpressed by Pikachu's attitude towards me, I decided that a little team spirit always goes a long way.

After a rather simple battle, my team now stands three members strong:

- Pikachu (don't worry, I'll get rid of him sooner than later),
- a female Nidoran I named Blueberry
- a male Nidoran, who I've named Raspberry​

I noticed that the Gym Leader of Viridian City was gone, so in the spirit of competitiveness, I decided to go ahead and prepare for him by training a bit. I was still training on Route 2 when I overhead a group of kids (ok, they were 10 too, but still…) saying that someone was blocking the way to Route 22, challenging anyone who approached him and claiming that he would become the greatest Pokémon trainer in existence. Fearing for the worst I headed back to Route 22 to confirm my suspicions and in fact find… Fish!

Spearow​

Our first Pokémon were Blueberry and Spearow, and Fish was more than compliant to begin the match. Spearow used Peck while Blueberry Growled, only to be Growled at back before connecting with Scratch twice… Spearow then caught Blueberry with her guard down and capitalized with a critical hit-Peck, only to be perfectly countered by a critical hit-Scratch! Spearow, fatigued, tried to keep Blueberry away with a menacing Growl, but Blueberry was on the prowl, and connected with a beautiful Scratch to finish the match.​

Eevee​

I recalled my tired Blueberry, and decided to give way to Raspberry to come out and fight, it would be revenge against that damned Eevee. However, revenge was far from as sweet as I thought it would be, Raspberry was quick to grab the offensive, and with a fast-paced Double Kick, he disposed of my opponent's Pokémon without breaking as much as a sweat.​

Saved the day! Thanks to my victory over Fish, people are able to travel freely around Route 22! :D

Following this victory though, tragedy befell me. On the way to the Pokémon Center, Pikachu (who for some reason was still following me) was attacked by a Pidgeotto (not really) and fell from a tree about thirty feet with a loud thud. Incredibly, the Electric-type survived, but its condition was critical. I took him to the Pokémon Center where they told me to leave him in their care, and that I shouldn't leave my Pokémon outside their Pokéballs… especially not in the wild where they have natural predators (good one Oak!). So now my team has been reduced in numbers to the tag team known as 'The Berries'.

Seeing how the Viridian Gym Leader hadn't returned, I decided to go ahead with my journey. My mission is to record all Pokémon in Kanto with Oak's Pokédex, and it seemed to me like the most natural choice for a route was to continue north, which is what I did. Crossing Viridian Forest was nowhere near as hard as I'd predicted. I had to battle some trainers here and there, but their Pokémon were no match for 'the Berries', and thus, I reached Pewter City in no time, where, as I've found out, the Gym Leader will battle anyone who wishes to challenge him. And so I made my way to his Gym.

His Gym seemed rugged and tough, exactly what you'd expect from a Rock-type Gym Leader, his Gym trainer though, fought me only using Ground-types (which still bothers me a bit honestly). However the real challenge would not be him, but Brock!

Geodude​

I started this match with Blueberry again, who faced off against his Geodude. This time Blueberry was the faster Pokémon, and appeared to deal substancial damage with her Double Kick combo. Geodude, on the other hand, didn't make as big of an impression with his Tackle, and was finished off promptly with our next move.​

Next, Brock called up his Onix. Although I think I could've won with Blueberry alone, I decided to play it safe and call up the big guns, Raspberry. Although Raspberry started with a strong Double Kick attack, Onix was quick to bind him tightly to prevent further damage, so I quickly decided to get my Pokémon out of there.​

Onix responded to the switch by using Bide, which I didn't notice (seriously), and absorbed the damage from Blueberry's Double Kick before unleashing its energy. Blueberry's stronger defenses however, allowed her to minimize the damage, and a second Double Kick ultimately finished the match.​

Obtained the Boulder Badge!

I've finally obtained my first official Pokémon League badge; if I continue to collect them, I'll ultimately be allowed to face the Elite Four to become the Pokémon Champion. This is where my real quest begins!

Diary Entry #3 - A Greater Responsibility

After beating Brock, I headed over to the Pokémon Center in order to heal 'the Berries' (thank God for free healthcare :P). Then, I decided that my next stop should be in Cerulean City, and imagine my surprise when while I was battling some trainer on the way to Mt. Moon, Blueberry and Raspberry both evolved simultaneously! (after the same battle). Overjoyed, I continued to thrash the trainers around with 'the Berries'' newfound strength… :D

My journey through Mt. Moon was mostly uneventful; I trained to my heart's content, beating any trainers that would pop up. As soon as I reached the second floor [down] however, things changed. I had a scuffle against a group of people who claimed to be "Pokémon gangsters", and called themselves Team Rocket, I found two Moon Stones (yay! ^_^), caught a Paras who I named Trippy (team's back up to three :)), and lastly, I beat a scientist senseless, who then proceeded to 'kindly share his discoveries with me' :badsmile:

Upon reaching Cerulean City, I decided to use the Moon Stones that would make my Pokémon evolve. I knew that this would give me a disadvantage against the local Gym Leader, Misty, but with the benefit of having stronger Pokémon, and the additional assistance of Trippy, I thought: "Why not?"

(Actually, I was scared that if I challenged the Gym with 'the Berries' still unevolved, they would level up too much, and I would miss the opportunity to teach them Body Slam and Thrash).

Realizing that I needed to be better prepared for my match against Misty, I decided to move north to Route 24, where I'd be able to further train my Pokémon, and out of nowhere, in comes Fish… again :\

The first Pokémon I sent out was Trippy, seeing how he sent out Spearow though, I decided to let one of my stronger Pokémon take care of it…​

Fish's strategy was evident from the beginning, his Spearow Growled and Leered at my Nidoking in an attempt to intimidate it. An attempt, I might add, that was futile, as Raspberry was prompt to defeat the Flying-type with two Horn Attacks.​

His next Pokémon was Sandshrew, and so, I decided to finally test my new Pokémon out against it. Sandshrew was quicker and used Sand Attack before Trippy had a chance to attack, and thus had an easy time fending off our attempts to use Stun Spore, however, as soon as it landed a Scratch on Trippy, my Pokémon was smart enough to take the opportunity and Paralyzed his opponent. Trippy was in no condition to fight however, and I decided to sideline him for the time being, and give way to…​

Fish continued with his strategy to use Sand Attacks, and successfully crippled Blueberry, however, it was apparent that between the two Pokémon, Sandshrew was worse off… far worse off. (:P)​

In order to protect Blueberry, I decided to switch her out for Raspberry, who easily took care of Fish's rat with Double Kick.​

My God… this Eevee must've had nightmares of Raspberry for days after its loss to him, imagine if you went up to fight your greatest nightmare only to find out it is seven times bigger than before (9 kg → 62 kg)?!… Anyways, it wasn't a good day for Eevee. xD​

("Hey take it easy, you won already…" ← I lol'd so much at that xD)

After taking and beating the Nugget Bridge challenge, defeating yet another Team Rocket Grunt, (realizing Paras doesn't actually learn any Grass-type damaging moves), training with the assistance of the various trainers in Route 24 and meeting the way-too-friendly Bill, I found myself in the outskirts of the Cerulean City Gym, ready to measure my strength against that of the Water-type expert, Misty.

After the formalities were over, I expected the best from the Water-type Gym Leader, and gave her mine, starting with Blueberry as usual. Although Misty claimed to go on an all-out offensive, she tried to take advantage of the start of the match to use an X-Defend on her Pokémon. Unfortunately for her, Blueberry and I took that time window to land two devastating Body Slams that incapacitated my opponent's Pokémon; one down, one to go.​

Starmie​

When Misty called out her Starmie, I expected her to try and use an X-Defend again, and went out on the offessive with another Body Slam. She countered me, however, with a well-aimed Bubble attack from Starmie; Misty made a grave mistake though. Thinking that the battle was over she proceeded to give her new Pokémon an X-Defend as well, and Blueberry was able to connect with another powerful Body Slam. Starmie survived thanks to its heightened Defense, and disposed of Blueberry with a point-blank range Bubblebeam attack; the previous Body Slam however, would prove to be fatal in the long run though.​

Thanks to Blueberry's previous sacrifice, Raspberry came out against a very weakened Starmie. Starmie was quicker than my Nidoking, and damaged him a lot with an initial Bubblebeam attack, but Raspberry, fueled by anger, just Thrashed all over the Water-type, leaving no room for speculations and "what-if's", and winning me the match undisputedly.​

Obtained the Cascade Badge!

After the battle, I planned to leave the city and head south to Saffron City, when I heard that a criminal had just attacked a poor family's house. Seeing the ruckus that the criminal had left behind, I felt overwhelmed to find him and bring him to justice. He was pretty easy to defeat, although his Drowzee revealed my weakness to Psychic-types (nothing new :P). However, he was incredible at running away, and left me back in the dust. The encounter with this man from Team Rocket has led me to realize that Team Rocket aren't people who should be allowed to function along with society. As I clutch the Cascade Badge with my left hand, I've come to the realization that the Pokémon World as we know it is in peril, and that I must do everything in my power to stop this organization!

Diary Entry #4 - The End of the Road?

As I made my way down from Cerulean City to my destination of Saffron, I found that the road that connected Cerulean to Saffron was closed. Surprised, but not with any lack of spirit, I've decided to take the Underground Tunnel to Vermilion City. I hear that they have a Pokémon Gym down there, and I believe that the party Bill had talked to me about takes place there in the near future. I'll have to go and take a look around. :cheeky:

Upon reaching Vermilion City, I decided to head over to Route 11 where I planned to train my team a bit more, before I ran into a Drowzee, Pokémon that had previously showed me my tactical weaknesses, and I thus decided to recruit it's strength to my team, making the party four members strong!

After training for a while, and returning to Vermilion City with the intention of healing my Pokémon, I noticed towards the city's port, that the lights of a luxury liner were on, and people were easily seen dancing inside. I went up to the guard to inquire as to what was going on, and realizing that this must be the party Bill had told me about before, so I cheerfully decided to go in after showing the guard my ticket.

Unfortunately, the party was already over, except for a few elderly people who had clearly enjoyed the night thoroughly… and the food was completely gone! :'( However, I was overjoyed to find that most people aboard the ship were thirsty for Pokémon battles, and I immediately decided to satiate their thirst. In the excitement of meeting and battling people from around the globe, I found myself on the top deck, heading towards the captain's room, when I had the unfortunate event of meeting up with Fish yet again. :disappoin

Although I always feel some sort of self-satisfaction upon beating Fish's Eevee as bad as possible with Raspberry, I decided to keep it neat this time around, and allowed Blueberry to impose her will on Fish by stepping all over his Pokémon party. :D He might boast having captured 40 different types of Pokémon, but I can boast beating him with only one!​

Upon beating Fish, he began to speak about there being a "Cut Master" on board. While I didn't know what he meant by that at the time, I am glad to state that his info was NOT needed.

Upon entering the captain's quarters, I found the elderly man huddled over a trashcan. Apparently, he had also had his share of fun at the party! ;) But anyways, after helping out a fellow human being in need, he revealed being the 'Cut Master'. Fish, who had left the premises upon seeing the sick man never got to meet him, and he showed me a technique that was perfect for Trippy (Cut is NOT perfect)… how's that Fish, you punk a** *****!!! Yay!! ^o^

After disembarking from the S.S. Anne, and healing my Pokémon team, I found myself on the way to the local Gym, where I would face off against the American Lt. Surge. After beating his Gym trainers, I proceeded to unlock his puzzle, and although I'd heard that it was near impossible to solve, I managed to find both switches in the first two trash cans I looked at (not kidding, I shat bricks! O_O).

I'd heard that Lt. Surge only had one Pokémon before, and although I knew that Blueberry's Ground-type would protect her from any Electric-type moves, Lt. Surge must've had other ways to get around such an obvious weakness. This was obvious at the beginning of the fight. Whereas I commanded Blueberry to protect herself from any physical harm (with Growl), Lt. Surge's Raichu was quicker, and delivered a powerful Mega Kick. Thus I decided to follow up our Growl with a Body Slam that stunned Lt. Surge's Raichu, and made it react with a Thunderbolt discharge that as predicted, didn't leave a dent on Blueberry. Lt. Surge then proceeded to give his Pokémon an X-Speed and commanded it to use Growl, which in my opinion was too little, too late as he was forced to see Blueberry's third Body Slam terminate his Raichu. I'll admit that I am thoroughly disappointed with the lack of a challenge from this Gym. :\​

After beating Vermilion City's Gym Leader, I've noticed that the all the roads that lead to Saffron City have shut traffic, and the route west of Route 11 is being blocked by a Pokémon that for some reason seems familiar (you get to see Snorlax's picture on the S.S. Anne :P), I am at a loss as to how to keep going forward. I guess I'll have to give Prof. Oak a call…

Diary Entry #5 - All Roads Lead to Saffron!

After searching aimlessly for 'the next route' in my journey, and realizing that things weren't getting anywhere, I finally decided to get over my pride and give Prof. Oak a call. Prof. Oak answered and upon hearing of my situation, he told me to go search for his assistant in the other side of the Diglett Tunnel, where he would give me directions and tools to continue with my journey (ie. Flash). However, he gave me a restriction; by the time of my meeting with his assistant, I must've captured at least ten different species of Pokémon. Seeing how I already owned nine, I went ahead through the Diglett Tunnel, catching a Diglett on the way.

Upon reaching Prof. Oak's aide, he gave me instructions to head over to Cerulean City, and take the route to the east from there, Route 9, which would lead me to the Rock Tunnel, which I would then traverse with the help of an old friend…

Upon saying this, he went ahead and showed me my previous Pokémon, Pikachu, who had undergone surgery, and was showing great improvement in his physical state. Oak's aide explained to me that while Pikachu was still not at 100% capacity, they had been successful at the lab in teaching him the move Flash, which would be the sole reason for him making a return to my team, and he gave me strict instructions to send him back to the lab afterwards so he may continue with therapy. While it saddens me to see Pikachu so messed up physically, I'm glad he's ok.

While in Cerulean City, I caught a glimpse of a Bike Shop's promotion campaign, and then realized that I had received a Bike Voucher earlier from the Pokémon Fan Club chairman, which was eligible to exchange for a Bike, so now I won't be destroying my shoes as much as before, and the travelling should be less tedious.

My journey through the Rock Tunnel was mostly uneventful like that through Mt. Moon. However, I did use my time to come up with a nickname for Pikachu, Cyborg, and focused on training Trippy, who eventually evolved into a Parasect! After emerging from the long cave's interior, I found myself at Lavender Town, and returned Cyborg to Prof. Oak for his rehab as soon as possible.

From there on I decided to make my way to Celadon, seeing how Saffron was still closed to outsiders, and I quickly made my way to the local Gym. While in there, facing the Gym trainers served mostly as training for Trippy, although I have to say that honestly, they were some of the toughest opponents I've ever met (ParaWrap/SleepWrap FTW… they haxed the **** out of me :()

I decided to let Sleipr have a go against this one, and although he seemed far more immature as a battler (8 levels lower), a successful Hypnosis after stuffing a Razor Leaf attack opened up the path towards victory! Not even Erika's Super Potion could bail her Pokémon out of this one. :cheeky:​

Erika mustn't have foreseen my switch, as she used a Petal Dance attack that hurt my Pokémon minimally, and allowed us the allotted time with which to use: Ice Beam!​

Upon leaving the Gym I heard from an old lady that passage to Saffron City had been restored. Excited by the news, I headed over to the metropolis, in search of a match with their Gym Leader, Sabrina!

(Okay, not really, I just kind of want to get Lapras, and have actual parts of the storyline to complete with it so it levels up quicker :\)

However, I did notice a Team Rocket member from the corner of my eye as I left the city. I will have to come back and research what this means…

Diary Entry #6 - Vigilante Mode Activated, Grey vs Team Rocket! -

Much to my dismay, I found Saffron City overflowing with Team Rocket grunts, and in order to proceed by gathering intelligence on the matter, I decided to go back to the place where I'd seen that one Rocket at first, Celadon City…

(can't attack Silph Co. yet… :\)

In Celadon, I hustled throughout the city trying to find clues, until I came upon the one place that was sure to give me a hint or two regarding the criminal organization's activities, the corrupt man's paradise: the Game Corner. In here, some drunken buffoons tried to get me hooked on the slots even though I am clearly not old enough to gamble, so I decided that the place WAS shady and stayed a while before noticing in the distance a man dressed in Team Rocket's black uniform. I approached him and beat him in the ensuing battle, and in his rush to escape from me, the Rocket led me straight to their base!

I entered their base, and after my first battle against another of Team Rocket's lackeys, Sleipr's true power awakened, and he evolved into Hypno.

With Sleipr's newfound strength, we proceeded to beat the living hell out of Team Rocket, and I heard a lot of rumors regarding the 'Silph Scope', which apparently allows you to see ghosts!

Anyways, the Team Rocket grunts proved to be a lot less battle-hardy than I'd thought them to be… they would provide little to no resistance to my questionings, and I soon found myself in the lowest floor, where I had no idea what was awaiting me…

I had met and beaten this pair before at Mt. Moon, however, back then I had no idea that they were actually higher ranked than grunts… a clear giveaway by their white uniforms, and I realized that this match would be far too important to lose…​

Raspberry and this Meowth go back way back then, to our previous encounter in Mt. Moon… Thanks to his versatility and strength, he beat him not only once again, but with the same move: Double Kick.​

Sleipr was able to get rid of Ekans as swiftly and convincingly as he got rid of Koffing, one Confusion was enough to end our match.​

Although I had expected the Team Rocket generals to provide more of a challenge, I was impressed by their weak battling style, although happy about it, now the last door would lead me to their leader. Knowing that Sleipr was already tired, and fully prepared for a battle with whoever expected me at the end of the room, I decided to move Blueberry, my freshest Pokémon, to the front lines. This battle was meant to be nasty.

Although I had expected a tougher battle to begin with, Giovanni started with an Onix, who fell victim to Blueberry's super effective Bubblebeam, thus ending battle number one.​

Upon seeing that Giovanni's next Pokémon would be a Rhyhorn, I was quick to tell Blueberry to stay on the offensive, and a second Bubblebeam would finish his Pokémon off as well.​

Persian​

Giovanni's last Pokémon was Persian, who was quick to land a challenging Bite on my Pokémon. However, Blueberry shook it off, and quickly delivered a powerful Double Kick combo to its weak point, thus ending our match.​

Upon realizing that I had completely beaten man who had revealed himself as a so-called Giovanni, I looked up to notice that he was being bailed out from underground with a helicopter, through a tunnel that went upwards through the ceilings. I am sure that I must've caught him unprepared and with a significant type disadvantage, so I will definitely be prepared for our next fight! :bandit: (← vigilante mode). In his haste to escape though, I found that he left behind a pair of binoculars… could this be the Silph Scope?

Thanks to my growing information net, I soon found out that Team Rocket were not only operating in Celadon and Saffron Cities, but that they had also terrorized the people of Lavender Town by holding one of their very esteemed elders hostage atop the Pokémon Tower. Team Rocket does more and more unacceptable deeds each time I hear their name mentioned! D:<

However, when I entered the Pokémon Tower, the person who I first met up with turned out to be none other than… Fish! >.<

At this point in the match I was reluctant to switch my Pokémon just because, and I let Blueberry deal with his sole-remaining Normal-type swiftly with Double Kick, although not before it could land a Quick Attack that almost tickled my Pokémon.​

Fish never told me the reason for his visit to the Pokémon Tower, but I had no interest in it nonetheless, my business was with Team Rocket, and the sooner he left, the better for me.

On my way up the Pokémon Tower, I noticed that the Ghost-type Pokémon in the vicinity had become aggressive, and were possessing the residing channelers, so I went ahead and beat them one by one until I had saved the channelers who resumed with their daily activities.

As I made my way up the Pokémon Tower, I eventually laid a Cubone's mother soul to rest, and headed to the top floor to find none other than the anticlimactic duo of Team Rocket, Jessie and James…

Weezing had the same story as Arbok… never had a chance. :\ Although it did survive Sleipr's opening hit, it got confused in the process, and in its confusion ran into a wall, smacking itself unconscious. If anything, Weezing's new resilience was the difference between an honorable defeat, and otherwise.​

After getting rid of the annoying duo, I was able to save Mr. Fuji, who had been held hostage. In a show of appreciation he gave me a Poké Flute, but as of now, my main concern still resides in Saffron City!

3:08- My challenge begins. My character is named Spinner. My rival is Sean.
3:09- I get Oak to the lab. I choose Squirtle as my starter Named him Totes. Sean chooses Bulbasaur. Mom made me go do the dryer.
3:16- Sean and I had a battle. I...lost?! :(
3:19- I arrived in Viridian and got Oak's Package.
3:20- Returned to Pallet and received the Poké Dex.
3:21- Got back to Viridian, picked up some Poké Balls and went west.
3:27- Finally caught a female Nidoran. Named her Emma. (btw, for a Pokémon with a 35% appearance rate, it took a while to appear)
3:30- Entered Viridian Forest.
3:55- Exited Viridian Forest. Healed and went to the gym.
3:56- Challenged Brock. VICTORY! Obtained BoulderBadge and TM34 Bide.
3:57- Went East onto Route 3; taking a brake.
