  • It looks like we're going to have a Grass Gym as well. From the screenshots we've seen, we saw the town that had a Roselia statue in the center of it, and it was an area filled with a lot of floral life. It definitely had the appearance of being a Grass-typed Gym town.

Sounds okay to me. But who would specialize in BUG TYPE??? Weak, puny, irrelevant. Fairy Type specialists sound cool to me, though. :P

  • I'd like to see a champion using Normal type Pokémon. I guess I would like to see a Fairy type GYM Leader either.

Wasnt that the town where Viola has her Gym?

I'd want them to change it up a bit, if even slightly. Like having 10 gyms as mentioned above, or having 10 but only having to beat 8 or something.

  • I think a Bug gym to start with is a good place to go. You get the option of picking a starting Pokemon that will make the gym battle easier (Fire), harder (Grass), or neutral (Water). Plus there are some types which probably shouldn't be used at the start, like Steel or Dragon.

  • I would actually like this idea: you would have 12 Gym Leaders and have the E4 specialize in Water, Fire, Grass, and Electric. You would fight the E4 and Champion (who uses Normal types) once after the first 4 badges (Bug, Fairy, Poison, and Flying, in any order), ie. the Bronze League, which is up to Lv. 40. The pokes used would be mostly those in their second evolution or some final or not evolved at all. You fight the Silver League after the second set of badges (Ghost, Dark, Fighting and Psychic) which have pokes up to Lv. 70 and are all fully evolved. After the final set of badges (Rock, Ground, Ice, and Steel) you fight the Gold League which has pokes up to Lv. 100 with competitive items like Choice items. So you basically have 3 Pokemon Leagues (which are like rematches). The Super villain team can be Team Draco who specialize in Dragon types. The Police force in the game who aim to take out Team Draco use Normal types. The Champion is also the former Head of the Police force, who quit his/her position to pursue her dreams of competitive Pokemon battling.

This way all 18 types are represented.

Rock type gyms are OVERUSED! I don't want to see a single one in the new game.

There weren't any Rock type Gym Leaders or E4 members in 5th Gen if I recall correctly. So it was a nice break.

I want weather experts e4.. That would be challenging.

If not my idea above then definitely yours. Hail team, Sandstorm Team, Sunny Team, Rain Team, perhaps even a Trick Room Team for the Psychic gym!

I'd want them to change it up a bit, if even slightly. Like having 10 gyms as mentioned above, or having 10 but only having to beat 8 or something.

That's an interesting idea ... having the choice of which gyms to face. How do you think that should be implemented?

Also they should also scale the Gym Leader levels. I'll explain. Since Lumiose city is in the center of the map, what if they gave you a choice in which order to fight the gyms, seeing as all the cities span out of a central one. Then they would change the levels of the Leader's Pokes, their evolution states and items depending on which order you fight them.

Ex) If you fight the Bug Leader first she'll have a Caterpie Level 12. If you fight her 3rd, she'll have a Butterfree Lv. 22 with an Oran Berry. If you fight her 8th, she'll have a Butterfree Lv. 58 with a Choice Specs.

I'm probably not the first to deliver this idea. I know GameXplain said this already.

  • I'm hoping the E4 consists of Fire, Water, Electric, and Ice and for the champion to be a Grass specialist as all those five types can be associated with beauty...though maybe Fairy can take the place of Electric...

Rock-type gym is almost confirmed. The new revealed gym leader who is into sports is probably the Rock specializer. He is wearing mountain climbing equipment, he wears dark clothing (Rock color), has gems in his hair and even his hairstyle looks like a rock or even a mountain.

More than anything I want the Elite 4 to not be as holed in as they were in Gen 5. I hated the Ghost, Psychic, Fighting and Dark combo. I don't want my Elite 4 being ridiculously type effective on each other because it meant having to basically consist my team of the exact same types. It was Rubbish.

I think Fairy will definitely be a gym leader at the very least, but I'd kinda prefer it to be an Elite 4 type. How better to teach us the type matchups than with a Gym leader. :)

  • The 2nd and 3rd have not been confirmed that they are the 2nd and 3rd gym leader, however it is highly possible. The only thing that has been confirmed are the names and the first gym leader and type.

The only thing I am really hoping for with the gyms is that we have a Dark Gym Leader. With the E4, I hope it is a bit spread out. The E4 was way too easy in BW with the way their types were.

Ehm, I think they will announce the Gym Leaders as the first, second, third etc, but maybe, who knows.

I wish they had done that teaching of the type match up with a Dark gym back in generation II...
Hopefully the Lilith rumor is true.

  • Pertaining to the gym leaders already confirmed, Viola as the first gym leader is great. I never liked the first gym leader rock-type theme, so I'm happy that they're finally straying away from that norm. I like her concept as well, and I think it's good that they are going that far in depth with even the first gym leader. Clemont and Grant are both awesome concepts, and I think there's a small chance that Clemont could surprise us all as a steel-type leader. I can't wait to find out more about the both of them!

Finally, addressing the rumors. I agree a fairy-type leader is definitely going to be included. No complaints there; a new type is such a rare occasion and does merit a leader. If the grass type gym does end up being the sixth gym, I will be ecstatic because I've always been pulling for grass/bug type gyms late-game, and yet they've always been early-on, sparing Aaron from Diamond & Pearl. Another exciting gym would be the dark type one. I'd love to see what the developers do with that!

All in all, the gym leaders in this gen look exciting and every time a new one is released, I get more and more pleased with the sixth generation!

  • I REALLY want the Lumiose City Gym to be Fairy Type :( There's speculation it's Clemont's Gym but I'm hoping for Fairy! I definitely think there'll be a Fairy Gym, and I think it'll be one of the first 4 gyms because I can't see Fairy type Pokemon being...strong. Don't get me wrong, I think they'll be amazing and I'm sooo having Sylveon, but kind of like Bug type, Rock type and Grass type Gyms, where they're usually near the start because the Pokemon they have either have a lot of weakness or are pretty weak. For example, if Bugsy was the 8th Gym he would have Beedrill and Butterfree, not exactly threatening. I know we have Aaron the Elite Four member, but then again apart from Drapion who isn't even a Bug type, was he that difficult? I hope I'm making sense to at least someone..

Also, if we don't get a Dark type gym, I think I'll cry. No, I will cry. (Please be the 8th gym :( )

Yea, I can see why you think that the Fairy type will be the new ''bug'' or ''poison'' type but I still think that it will become rather popular.
