Hacked Pokemon in Competitive Battling

Alright, so I was wondering about this. In this community, what is the general attitude towards hacked/modified Pokemon in competitive battling? I'm not talking about trades here, I'm talking strictly about battles. I mean sure, those people who spend weeks training their Pokemon for battles may not like it, but honestly, some people just don't have time to do so, myself included. I will say that I'm somewhat new to competitive battling, but I'm trying to figure it out.

To be clear, I'm not referring to clearly hacked Pokemon that give you an unfair advantage. I'm referring to Pokemon that could be obtained legitimately and that have normal stats. However, this is another point to discuss. When creating a Pokemon using an editor such as Pokesav, you have to account for every stat. Where do you draw the line for IVs? You could, of course, just hit "all 31" and be done with it, but your team would then be incredibly powerful and most would consider this unfair. What is a fair set of IVs for a hacked Pokemon? When you're playing the game normally, you don't have to consider this, but when hacking you do.

Personally, I see the appeal of hacking in competitive battles simply because the largest part of battling is the strategy. It's not so much the training leading up to the battle as it is the battle itself. A hacker with a bad strategy will still lose easily to a team that can counter it, regardless of their Pokemon's stats. (Within reason, of course. A Pokemon with 999 in all stats and moves it normally couldn't learn can still likely beat just about anything.) So what's your opinion? Should it be acceptable or not?

I actually stopped following the competitive metagame shortly after R/S were released simply because of the overhaul the battle system underwent between genII and genIII. There are too many factors going into your battling pokemon that it's impossible for you to carry the pokemon you beat the game with into a tournament and expect to win. I can still make a good team on NetBattle or Shoddy, but the attachment isn't there if I didn't battle with them throughout the game. You see where I'm going?

Hacked pokemon are the same thing, but used in the actual main games. I'd love to get back into competitive battling, but it's just too time-consuming to raise good battling pokemon from eggs, and hacking pokemon destroys the fun in raising said pokemon. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. :P

It depends. Like, if they hacked just to learn a move they could learn at an extremely high level , then I think it's ok.

But if they hack all their stats to 999 or have 252 EV's in every stat, then probably not

IDK, some people might just be plain angry about it, others don't really care.
I don't care much for IV's, only Natures, moves, and EV's. The only time I hack, is to get Pokemon such as 1-3rd Gen Pokemon that can't be obtained in 4th Gen. I don't want to spend extra money on Pokemon games just to get a single one. I just catch em, without any IV's or anything like that.

Yeah, but I don't exactly consider EV training fun. I consider it tedious. XD

Yep, that's what I'm getting at. But then... you wouldn't be able to use hacks like that on Wifi anyway.

Basically, I say... anything impossible is not alright. If it's possible to get it legitimately, it's fair game.

Hacking Pokemon to get good IV's/EV's/stats to use in battles is wrong, but in this sense, I think the hackers punish themselves for it. Eventually, it'll just seem too easy, and they'll just stop playing way before they would if they raised Pokemon legitimately. You're right, battles are about strategy. There's fun to be had in making an attractive team with good stats and a workable strategy, and without strategy, there is no challenge and certainly no fun.
