Hacking to obtain event legendaries (or just hacking in general) shows impatience, and lack of self control.

It's a game. There's no need to be a perfectionist about it. Furthermore, by hacking to make event exclusive Pokemon no longer exclusive the game becomes unbalanced, and unfair.
 
Hacking sucks, especially if people use it to rip people off with fakes...

although cloning via hacking isn't any more bad as GTS cloning so I'm alright with that
 
Cool, this thread is getting HUGE! I havent been here in a while, and im thankful that everyone is throwing in their 2 cents.

I decided that cloning isnt ALL that bad, and hacking the items to trigger Arceus, Shaymin, and Darkrai isnt bad either.


Also, Luminous Reaver, how is it showing impatience to hack a pokemon that we are not going to fly on a plane to buy? Im assuming you live in the nintendo event area...
 
I'm pretty much totally anti-hacking. I'm interested in glitches and have taken full advantage of the Shaymin/Darkrai glitch. I've also used the Emerald cloning glitch (I keep the clones, trade the originals to people I know).

If you're using an AR or GS...you better be in a country with no events and release those pokemon once you have the dex entry ^_^

But really, I understand people who do it...but the 'hard' parts of the game (like IV breeding and EV training) are SUPPOSED to be hard...

but whatever, that's just my opinion =)

Actually, if you just did that, the stats would be recalculated when you put it in the PC, or when it gets set to level 50/100 over wifi.

Hacking is not good. It is not fair. It should not be tolerated. What's the deal with kids these days trying to out-do everyone? If you can't get things done right in a game, why play it?

That actually shows a lack of self control, not impatience. If you can't get it because of your location, then you can't get it.
The Pokemon must have been made exclusive for a reason. Respect that?

Oh, I didn't know that, But I don't own cheating devices and don't hack my games, I don't mind getting hacked Pokemon as long as I know they're hacked.

The only time I ever hacked was last night and today on a FireRed rom I wanted to do just for fun, I would never hack my actual FireRed game,

Once, I tried an AR on my copy of Leaf Green. The minute that I used the "Complete Pokedex!!!" code, the linked stuff stpooed working. I am now terrified of all Pokemon hacks because of that.

Hacks are very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, BAD!!!
 
hacks are only bad if you dont know what your doing. i dont hack myself anymore(i used to hack before D/P{heck even befor FR/LG to give {YES GIVE} away pokemon that was impossible to get with only R/S to local kids intown) i never hacked pokemon to make them stronger or give them unlearnable moves only to catch un catchable pokemon. I dont mind getting hacked event pokemon but i would like to get legit pokemon as much as possible, also i will never offer a hacked pokemon on a wi-fi trade or battle with it(only accept hacked event for pokedex)

I agree. I'm not flying halfway around the world and paying $1000 or so just because I want a pokemon. It's not impatient to hack one, since we can't get one anyway. If they don't come to our country, that's not our fault. It's not anyone's fault except the people who orginise this stuff.

And you can't say 'tough luck' to the people who can't get it at all, and hack for it. Just because you've got it, doesn't mean everyone else is gonna get it, or just suffer without it.
 
personally, i see no problem with it. but if you're going to hack, hack the Pokémon at a low level, or hack it and breed it and use the bred Pokémon, especially if you're planning on trading, competing, etc... its all a question of morals and what you think, though. do whatever you feel is right. :D
 
I think hacking is only okay for in-game, but I don't think that you should hack your Pokemon for an other reason - not to trade, not to battle. If you can't go out and catch/breed for a Pokemon, and then train it, then you shouldn't use it competitively.

I don't have Mew, or Celebi. (Or any unreleased Pokemon) Unless an event offers them that's close to me, I won't have them, ever. It's a game, man.

Not only that, but the Pokemon were made hard to get so that not that many people would get them. Hacking to get them just because you feel like it is disrespectful towards Nintendo, and those who got the Pokemon legitimately.

Seriously, is it at all mature to suffer because you can't get a Pokemon? Is it any better to just get what you want without regarding the intentions of those who created the game?
 
how is it disrespectful? you said it yourself, its just a game. so, if you really want to get technical, its not really a question of morals at all, but a question of how badly you want a Pokémon. i got an AR because i really wanted Darkrai (which, by the by, is a very good Dark Type). :D

It shows incredible disregard towards the efforts of those who created the game, and to those who did spend thousands of dollars and spent hours in their cars to get the Pokemon legitimately.
 
that's what i meant in my post, thats why i said that if you're going to hack, do it at a low level. that way, you can train it with the ideal EV's. if i'm going to hack for Rare Candies, i'm not going to be using that Pokémon for competitive battle, though. its really not that hard attach an Exp.Share and battle the Elite 4, and then train on up from there.

You might as well not compete at all.
 
i hate having to hack, it annoys me and it gets to my head
 
I think hacking is O.K unless there are 999 stats....
