Ruby and Sapphire are essentialy the same game. But I see where you aee going with this. Mainly because Ruby is popular by choice and research from Gen 3 were mainly contributed to Ruby, FireRed, and Emerald.
Well, I dunno about that. While I can't personally vouch, I've heard a good amount, especially from the more involved researchers, that the code for Sapphire was convoluted garbage...to paraphrase. That's why it's easier to hack Ruby, other than the available tools and the like.
Not quite. The code for Sapphire is virtually the same, with the only differences being the offsets of various functions and of course images, wild Pokemon data, etc. Otherwise, it's the same game as Ruby, and they are both "convoluted garbage."
