Why does everyone use hacking teams?
if you look at all the best hacks you will find that they all have been done by, Lone hackers, or one or two people?
I don't even see whats good about them. it would be better keeping to 1-3 people in your team.
    Write down what you think.

Not all the greatest hacks. ShonyGold hada team, I think...

Anyway, teams exist for help. Some people require help in order to hack. I find it better to become incredibly good in 1 thing, and then if you group all these people who are good at different skills, then you make a better hack than those who are on their own, with average in all skills.

While this is true, the thing about teams is that you can never fully expect a member to do something exactly how you want it to be done. Your vision is probably different than theirs.

You are correct, but most teams are to overcome problems. Even though it may seem easier to learn everything, making a higher quality hack requires mastery of every part. IF the leader was a scripter, then it is easier for a higher quality hack, as it goes their way. They can select the tiles to insert, maybe not the maps, but a basic outline of them, the criticism for sprites etc. So, a team is there to provide expertise in all sections quickly, and sometimes more precisely.

This sums it up, really. Learning to do things yourself, and putting that knowledge into something is far more satisfying than having someone do it for you. Chances are you'll never be completely happy with something unless you do it yourself.

BUT he's asking WHY do people make teams. One answer is laziness, another is to get help where the owner fails, o if the owner wants to focus on one skill, and the members do too, for perfection on all areas, instead of good, but not great on all.

Flame of Rage...? It's probably forgotten by now :(

But I like doing things myself, because I make them the way I want to. It's okay to ask people for some small things, at least I think so. But teams I dislike. Maybe because they never remain alive long enough.

I liked teams when i was a newb. I thought people were gonna help me. I was DEAD. Wrong. I'm not gonna revive my team again. People are extremely unreliable and childish to form a proper team.
Sooo, i'm a "Lone Hacker", and i'm going to learn every hacking skill.

What i'm trying to say is, that teams are -most of the times- useless. The only good "team" i've ever seen is LinkandZelda's cooperation with Zeikku.

    still are
It might be just my nature but I dislike working with others, but if you're good at working with others, and if you can find a team that is reliable, then by all means go ahead and make the hack.
All I'm saying is, if some people took the time to script, or map by themselves, we'd have MUCH better hacks on this forum right now.

The only thing I really can't do is artwork such as sprites, tiles, etc. I can insert just about anything, and script decently. I require no assistance unless they are to make graphics (pixel art). Scripting, Mapping, and Inserting Graphics are all fairly feasible tasks for anyone. I'm just not graphically endowed.

Hence why teams fail. You can script and map by yourself, the only help a rom hacker should need is with something you need to be pretty well in, such as sprites. Scripting is easy to learn if you're not lazy or 11 or 12 years old. Mapping, hell, anyone could pick up that. Even if it sucks, that's why we have the MRT.

To sum it up, the only help a hacker should ever need is criticism.
