why the creators continue to make pokemon sound like actual monsters???we kinda kno what each pokemon sounds like in the anime and i would think that's how they actually sound...it would be interesting to hear those sounds in future games instead of the grunting and growling noises they make now that the games do now.
just wonder if anyone else has had the same thought xD

    comment/discuss ^^

I'm guessing they've been restricted to noises because of the limitations of the handheld consoles.

There will come a time (Possibly when they make a full release on an actual games console) when characters will actually speak to eachother and the Pokémon will actually make their "true" sounds. I reckon that day isn't too far off, either. I mean they've already released the first proper 3d Pokémon game, plus with how fast gaming technology is advancing, it's only a matter of time.

Uhm...you think that Pokemon in the games should make the same sounds as in the anime? Saying their names and such?
Hmm...haven't the Pokemon in the games always been more animal-like than in the show?
If you'd like them to be more...well humanized then this would be a good idea. But apparently, many players prefer Pokemon to stay some kind of animals or monsters. The Pokedex entries support that image. Think about entries like "is capable of understanding human speech" or the ones about hunting each other.
On the other side it would be funny! ("Koooofing" my all-time favourit XD, I'd import the games just to hear that).
Personally, I don't care much. It would be fun though. Would make it look more childish, maybe.

Animal noises is what the Pokemon really make.
It's the anime that is inconsistent with what could be called 'true canon' or such. The anime also shows all Pokemon being capable of understanding human speech — in actuality this is not the case, only Lapras and few others can. This is why Elite Four members ramble on about trust and friendship — most Pokemon can only understand these as a medium for them to know what to do.

I think reading the player character shout "Go, Charizard!" only to hear something shout CHARIZARD a second later would quickly become a jaw-grinding adventrue.

"Pi *static* Ka *hiss* Choo *crinkle*" from Yellow was more than enough for me, as far as the games go.

Some names would just be horrid to hear over and over again, not to mention the additional costs of re-voicing every Pokémon in every language. And you know they'd get the worst voice actors possible.

    Wild Zigzagoon appeared! "ZIGZAGOON!"
    Blahblah used Psychic.
    Wild Zigzangoon fainted! "ZIGZAGOON!"
...over and over and over and over and over and over and over again...

Actually the Gametrailers review for Platinum complained about that. This is a DS now folks, it can hold an hour or so of voiced-over scenes(see FFIV DS), it's just the with Pokemon the makers get too lazy.

    1) Technical limitations. You can't put in too much graphics & sounds m.m. on a GameCard, or the game wouldn't have space to exist at the same time...
Nice graphics, but sadly we had to skip the game, just because somebody wanted us to make stuff sound wierd -.-
    2) Recognisation. You like know that for example a Luxray sound like "Wrrowoirr", Blaziken "Rooieeeh", and so on...
    It would confuse people :(

Some pokemon have cry similiar (or if you listen closefully you will hear its name.. example chansey : Chaaaaaansey. just skip all the a's and it says chansey, also rayhorn's cry is somewhat sounds like its name, but its not going to change now as everyone is regular to the original and its pretty good. however there is some terrible cry's, fits lame pokemon such as bidoof and bibarel
