I made a thread in Pokemon General and realized that I made the thread title completely wrong. I went to insert a message stating that I'd get the title changed ASAP but I had the option to change the thread title myself?

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I though staff members only had the power to change thread names D:

If you actually click on it, it won't let you do it and say you don't have permission. Same when I click someone's username to view their profile, but I accidentally click "edit user profile" and I can't do that. So it's just...there. But you can't act on it.

Unless I'm thinking of something different, of course...hm.

The way I did it, was edit my post and "Go Advanced" then I changed it :c

Because if we could change them this whole time, me asking Wifi moderators to change my trade thread names was a waste u.u

Then that's...really weird. I don't remember any admins ever saying "hay users can change their thread titles now" or anything. :| Huh. Now I'm baffled myself.

An Answer.

Editing the thread title from Go Advance only changes the title at the top of your post, not the actual thread.

Like my title for this post is: An Answer. You'd need to ask a moderator to change the actual thread title.

...I think that's what you mean.

Although the thread name changed in Pokemon General. :/ It was Pixie's are golems.

But its now or Don't ask how "are" was in there

Actually, in the first 5 minutes of posting a thread, you can actually edit the thread title via go advanced, or double clicking in the area next to the thread name on the list of posts in the forum. After that period, you can't change it. The same goes for when you edit a post, if you edit it in the first 5 minutes, it won't show that you've edited it down the bottom of the post (which is why I think the five minutes title change thing is there, too). Either way yeah you can change the title but for a limited time.

Yeah, what Forever said. That got changed so people (like yourself, omega), could fix typos in their thread titles without annoying moderators.
