2nd Gen Have you beaten Red?

I thought that he was fairly easy. So, I just went there with my Lugia, alone, without a single item.

The way was long and treacherous, but when I finally got there, Venasaur and Pikachu wiped Lugia out.

I came back with my best Pokémons, and killed him. It turns out that I needed only two Pokémon, Tyranitar and Suicune.
 
Once. Only once. I was playing Silver in my room, and the only thing I remember about the battle is my Typhlosion leveling up to LVL 81.
 
I'm quite proud of myself - yesterday I managed to defeat Red with a team of just bug Pokemon, all under lvl. 60. :D

I took out Pikachu with a couple of Earthquakes from Heracross. I tried to put Vensaur to sleep with Parasect and then wittle him down, but he swtiched out to Espeon. I switched in Heracross to Megahorn him, but his Psychic took me down, so I used Fury Cutter with Scyther and defeated him. Then came the real challenge - Charizard. And this is the best part - I took him down with a Level 50 Shuckle! Toxic and a pile of Hyper Potions FTW!

Blastoise was annoying. I tried to put him to sleep with Parasect but he used Blizzard and he fainted. Same happened with Scyther (keep forgetting about that Flying sub-type). Then I tried the same tactic I employed for Charizard, but Surf was a OHKO. Venomoth poisoned him and took a decent chunk of his health before he bit the dust, and then I brought out the recently revived Hercross. He used Surf, which would have KOed me, but I held on with Focus Band, then used Reversal. Finally, he was down.

Snorlax was easy enough with Forrestress - ineffective Body Slams and Rollout was all I needed. Then Venasaur came out. I used Explosion, and sent him down into the red zone. All UI had left was a slow Heracross with 1HP. So, I sent him out and used Revive on Scyther. Venasaur took down Heracross. I sent out Scyther, and used Wing Attack. Red was defeated!

I know that was a lengthy description, but it was a pretty epic battle.
 
Yes. I forget the levels of my pokemon, but I know my Feraligatr was beastly. That was during the one file that I finished the whole game (including facing red) in less than 24 hours
 
I beat him with this team:
Pidgeot lvl 58
Slowbro lvl 62
Ampharos lvl 60
Magmar lvl 62
Ho oh lvl 70
Feraligatr lvl 63
It was hella easy
Slowbro with 250 hp ftw. He took so many attacks from charizard, then eventually 1 hit killed him with a critical-hit surf
Holy crap snorlax was hard to beat... my god.. He took out 3 of my people then ho oh finally killed him after ampharos weakened him
 
Never beaten Red/Blue just getting past his lvl80 pikachu exhausted my party

how did you deAL with the pikachu, with Ho-oh?

LOL. Red in G/S/C right? Hahahaha. I remember wondering around Mt. Silver when I was like 8 yrs old or sometihing. (I don't remember exactly how old, but I was hella young.) I was like: "IS THAT THE DUDE FROM R/B/Y?!!!1one!!!1three!3!!1!?"

Back to the topic at hand. Yes. I pooped on him multiple times. I played him each time I wanted to get my Pokemon level up. =)
 
I beat him, It was kind of easy, I just got a opposite type pokemon to counter each of the types of pokemon red had.
