No she went to a big gathering, it's not a center. The centers are stores. ^_^; If she had gone, her family would be poor now from her rabid spending at the center. XP
 
lol, it sure was happy carrying all those bags of pokemon stuff out of the store. =D The hard part was waiting to get in. u.u; Man, there was a lot of people! @_@

I've experimented. You can never reach the NYC Pokemon Center without bumping into atleast 100 people.

*sigh* I'm such a clumsy person. :P
 
I went to the Pokemon Center in New York about 2 years ago on our "first annual road trip to New Jersey". Since I really didn't want to go to this party my parents were attending, I convinced them to let me spend some time at the Pokemon Center to make up for it. >D

Ehm... let's all praise my wonderful sense of direction. I got the address beforehand and we got to New York. After a LONG time driving around trying to figure out where we were (there are too many one way streets, lmao), my mom eventually dropped my dad, brother and I off at a street corner. After about an hour of randomly walking around trying to get our bearings, I noticed a sign on the back of a bench. It had a map and, lo and behold, the Center was right down the adjoining street. XD And sadly, at the end of that street was more or less where my mom dropped us off. o_O

I could only get my talking Pichu plushie because everything was so expensive. ;_; (American $ > Canadian $ ._.)
 
YESSSS! My dad will be in Japan next week, and he promised to go to the Pok?mon Center in Tokyo for me! Yay!

I think her dad will be there anyways, and he's going to get her some stuff from the center since he's there. ^_^;

*nods* My dad took some pictures. I'll upload them on the weekend for you. He brought back a whole heap of stuff for me! XD BTW, there are 3 more in Japan: Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka. ^^ I think the Fukuoka one is new. They're all listed on the back of the spring catalogue (he brought back 3 copies of that for me, too ^^)

Wow, Japan is full of pokemon stuff eh?
That's cool. What was the best thing he bought for you?
 
Well, I'll tell you what he got for me ^^:

-Pokemon Center-exclusive Pikachu hairclips
-Pokemon AG chopsticks in an AG slide (you know, so you can carry them around)
-A Pikachu stamp that has the word "OK!" on it
-A Raichu figurine
-One of the "ex" decks (the Charmander one)
-A badges pack (it looks just like a TCG booster, but instead of 9 or 11 cards it has 2 badges ^^)
-3 copies of the catalogue (he asked for extra copies XD)

And the bag is so cool, it's orange with the outline of a Torchic on it... and even the seal has Pikachu and the AG starters on it!

He's going to be in Osaka in June - he said he might go to the one there for me too!

I went to N.Y. Pokemon Center but I couldn't buy anything. ;_;
 
Well, he went one day but the queue was 2 hours long and he couldn't wait around! So he went back the day before he came home, in the morning, and got in straight away! And he said it was full of kids hanging around and spending hundreds of dollars, because they had nothing else to do ^^.
 
Yeah. Parents don't know the true spirit of pokemon.

Well, my parents hate Pokemon, but my dad would get pretty much anything for me and my little brother. Every time he goes to Japan or the US, he brings back some Pokemon stuff for me ^^. So even though I'm not allowed to buy it here, I have quite a lot.
 
My parents think pokemon are for babies. o_O
They hated it ever since I started watching it.
 
Yeah, my mum thinks Pokemon is for babies too. I told her I know 20-somethings who like it. She said that since I don't know them IRL, they could be pretending XD
