Have you spent any money on the game?

No, nor do I intend to. I can be patient enough to beat a game like this without money.

Not yet. I'm considering buying one of the packs just to get a bit of a jumpstart, but not sure if I want to yet. Maybe once it gets slower and more painful in later ranks?? =p I have no plans to ever go crazy p2w, maybe I'll spend a few dollars on one or two things but that's it.

I must confess that I did...but only because I wanted that dang diamond drill and there was no other way to do it. I don't think it gave me a huge advantage in the game overall, but I like to know that I'll be able to get all the support pokemon and decorations in time. Plus, I feel good about supporting the Pokemon company in this.

What I like about this game is that this isnt a pay to win game tbh, like you don't really need to spend money to get items, since you can get them by grinding, and it's amazing. +1 for me def, but to answer your question, no, and I won't.

I have! In general, I try to avoid ever buying things, but if I've enjoyed a game for a few days, I try and spend at $5 - $10 to show my appreciation, so I did buy the two packs on sale. (.99 and 4.99)

I actually wanted to post a thing today that I really really admire this shop system!! If anyone hasn't looked at it yet, there is a limit on how many diamonds you can buy. In addition to that, after getting 2,500 exchange tickets, you can get a diamond miner that gives you 100 diamonds a day. It doesn't break.
Basically, if you pay a normal full price on this game, you're done. It won't ask you to suck more of your money forever, and won't even let you use more than $80, won't make it frustrating without the items, and will give you a constant supply of diamonds once you're done. I think that's extremely responsible, in general, and specifically because it's a game marketed toward children. I've seen games for kids that you can buy a $99 pack and still blow through it's items in a few days, and those items are random chance items so you might STILL not get what you want.

If I keep playing this game for at least a month, I'm going to buy enough to get the diamond miner just on principle supporting of this responsible approach to in-app transactions.

    NO!

I never will. I refuse to feed into these types of freemium economics usually. If I purchase anything it's with the intent of supporting the developer, not because I wanna cheese the game. If the game gets to a point where I have to Pay To Win, I quickly stop playing.

I HATE PAY TO WIN WITH A MASSIVE FIREY FURY OF A MILLION SUNS AND HATE WHEN MOBILE GAMES DO IT.

Fortunately... Nintendo does not typically have this kind of reputation and they do HONESTLY TRY TO AVOID Pay To Win scenarios. So they've earned a little forbearance.
