Well 99% of the time I play with the sound off, so, no unfortunately I don't know that many cries. But I do know a couple of them...

I do remember my fair share of Pokémon cries which surprises me, now that I think about it. I can't really list all of them because I'll probably be here all day but I would estimate that I know about 50 - 70 cries and can recognize most of them by just hearing them.

As for the animé, well it's pretty self-explanatory since their cries are pretty much their names being repeated. Pi-ka-chuu!

Sadly, my favorite cry.. is one of for which I can't remember what Pokemon makes it. D;

I don't make a point to remember any of them, though, some of them just.. I've heard them sooo many times that they stick with me.

I can relate, lol. One of my most favorite cries is made by a Pokemon in Sinnoh, I just don't remember which one?

I remember when I used to obsess over pokemon when I first got Emerald for my Gameboy, i kept on hearing the cries of random pokemon while playing the game. Like once, i was right by that tree-place, the one where Kecleon and Steven were, I heard a Grovyle's cry on the path. I was really freaked out then.

I remember the first time I played Ruby Version I always heard the random cries too. It was weird back then, I thought my game was messing up or like random Pokemon would run out of no where and battle me. Lol.

Yeah, I think I read somewhere that that actually happened, like you would hear the cries, like it was apart of the game.

I pretty much have the first generation of cries memorized from just playing so much. As each generation goes I know less and less cries. Plus nowadays I tend to play with the sound off due to others being in the room or if I'm doing poorly I'll turn the music off to cancel out any added annoyances. Plus the cries of the newer Pokemon are so complex now. I found it much easier to memorize a static 8-bit cry then a symphony of sounds.

I agree with you on the complexness of the new cries. They sound cooler because of it, but I agree so much.
