Well once HeartGold and SoulSilver come out and afterall its a remake
so what do you think will happen to the anime

Ash still has to get his 8th Sinnoh Badge and challenge the Sinnoh League. He also has to go up to the Battle Zone.

Oh ok and they will probably make episodes just like keep fighting team rocket and stuff

Off Topic:Wow that was a really quick post O.o

This is not the first time that remakes are being released, FireRed and LeafGreen were also remakes. After that Diamond and Pearl were intoduced which were not remakes. So, there will probably a new generation Pokemon in the games that will come after HeartGold and SoulSilver.

It would be interesting to see what will happen with the anime if no new games are going to be released, either:
The anime will end too: I somehow don't find this likely
The anime will continue with Ash's journey: Most likely.

There is also a third option:
The anime will reboot with different a cast: though I don't think this one is very likely either.

Well, since the Battle Frontier is in HGSS it will still be able to coordinate and make it perfect to add in some Johto stories.

Probable: The anime will branch off on another original arc similar to the Orange Islands or Battle Frontier until a game with new content is released for them to follow.

Ideal: The anime ends. After the final episode, a Pokemon Special anime animated by BONES is announced.

I will reply to this thread's title in the most detailed, precise way possible.

    No.

These threads on speculation about the relation between the anime and HGSS is getting quite tiresome, tbh. Perhaps Ash and the gang will go to Johto. Perhaps someone will replace either Dawn or Brock. Perhaps (insert whatever main girl you fap to here) will make a glorious return. Perhaps Ash will get a Riolu. (If he does, there is no hope left in the world, honestly.) Perhaps Brock will obtain a 20-foot tall Magikarp.

It's all fan theories ATM. If you want definitive answers, sit on your ass and wait for them. All will be explained in time. I know patience can be hard for some people (it certainly was when I was 12.), but it's not THAAAT hard.

anime end? i hope it does and they make an anime of pokemon special. now that'd be a good anime ~<3

anime stop following games? think about it a bit. when has the anime EVER really followed the games?

In the sense that the anime uses all the same cities, gym leaders and elite 4 as the games.

There's also the one (or two) episode(s) that does its best to cram the entirety of the game's storyline into 20-40 minutes.

And in most cases, it fails because it doesn't make much sense. :V

they might have Ash come back to johto for something. (battle frontier/tower) It's likely. How else could we possibly meet that new female character?

you say it uses all the same cities. this is true. but how many episodes take place in cities that arent in the games? ash even had gym leaders travel with him! i dont see that as following the games. i see it as the creators of the anime making up their own stupid stuff cause theyre too lazy to make a decent storyline for more than a few of the episodes.

While what you say is true, every city that has been in a game has also been in the anime so what I said still remains true.

IDK but i believe Ash will come back to one of the regions he didn't win but i hope he can at least WIN a championship.

    I've givin up hope T_T

Before HGSS was announced, there was a theory among the niche of the fandom that Ash would win the Sinnoh League and go on to the Champion League, because it explains why the Sinnoh Elite Four are all getting episodes dedicated to them. (Well, half of them so far, anyway.)

However, the majority of those people have thrown that theory out the window and hopped on the Johto Battle Frontier bandwagon because Johto is oh so wuvvy duvvy and is obviousry the bestestest reegen evar roite? :A

(The irony is, even a lot of HGSS proponents will agree that the anime's trip through Johto was the furthest thing from a pleasant one...but then, most of them will just baww because Cynadquil wasn't uber badass because it didn't evolve. Twice, because being a mid stage is no excuse, isn't that right, Bayleef? :V

Poor Monferno. 12 year old boys must just despise you. >:V)

Did you miss that whole Battle Frontier in kanto? I mean they are probably going to incorporate it into the show. Heck look at all the Johto Pokemon lately.

No, not at all. The anime will at least be made upto the end of Sinnoh and the new Battle Frontier before they even think of putting and end to the anime.

Here's my prediction, which I think has a 90% chance of being implemented:
Once Heart Gold and Soul Silver comes out, the anime will be near the end of Sinnoh, and Ash would have gotten his eighth badge, i.e. the Beacon Badge from Volkner.
Then there will be a lot of filler episodes, and then there will be contest championships, and finally there would be the Sinnoh league episodes which will take a while to finish.
After the end of this big set of episodes, a new season will start focusing on Ash's travel back to Johto, where Dawn will leave the team and the new female character from Heart Gold/Soul Silver will join Ash in his adventures.
If you don't know yet, the Battle Frontier in Platinum has been officially announced to be the same Battle Frontier in Johto, and that makes a perfect excuse for Ash to go back to Johto for a second time just like he did for Kanto a while back.

And then you will have a whole lot of episodes of battling these five people and a lot of other filler episodes specially focusing on the new female character and her attempt at becoming the best "Pokethlonist"?
After this long season ends, the anime will either move on to another new region probably with a lot of new Pokemon, or the anime will be announced to be over.

There is a 95% chance that the anime will continue, and there is a 3.5% chance that the anime will now focus on a new character rather than Ash (probably May?), and finally there is a 1.5% chance that the anime will actually be at its end.

Personally, I would hate the anime having a character replace Ash or have the anime totally focus on the beginning of a new thing all over.
And personally, I would love the anime actually ending, but then it would feel incomplete...

Seeing how the Anime has yet to even showcase even ONE aspect of the so-to-be-believed "fifth generation", I'm beginning to think that the Anime may indeed come to an end by the time Ash presumably completes the BF at Johto.

I also think that Dawn staying on for the next saga (IE, the BF saga) is a terrible mistake, seeing how by the time they even GET to Johto, the main Gen IV games (ie, Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum) will be completely outdated, thus making her purpose (advertizing Generation IV's main games) completely useless. I mean, at least with May, they kept her because Emerald was most recent (although I still don't like the fact that they treated Leaf as if she never existed. I mean, even Brendan and Lucas got more appearances than her, and that's saying a lot, seeing how they only got a few second cameos in movie openings.), plus the fact that her main reign was called "Advanced Generation" instead of something like "Ruby and Sapphire" helps things in her favor. But in this case, it's completely different, as not only is the saga limited to the main series ("Diamond and Pearl"), but Platinum, unlike Emerald, was released before HGSS.

I mean, if the Anime writers or game writers were to make confirmations of a Generation 5, they would have shown us something by now (They already unveiled all three special event/movie Pokemon, and they haven't even shown us a sihlouette of a Generation V pokemon.). I mean, in the First Season, they had Ho-Oh and Togepi in the main anime (as a matter of fact, Ho-Oh was the first Generation II pokemon seen in the anime, which happened in episode 1.), in the movie, we had a Snubble, Marill, and a Donphan. In the second season, we had a Marill, and an Elekid appear. Likewise, in the second movie, we had an Elekid, Lugia, Slowking, Hoot-Hoot, and a Ledyba appearing. In the Johto Saga, we had a Keckleon (which first appeared in the middle of the region), as well as a Blaziken and a Wynaut. In Movie 4, we had a Wailmer, and in Movie 5, other than a Wailmer, we also had Latias and Latios. In Hoenn, we had a Munchlax, and in BF, we had a Weavile, a Mime jr., a Bonsly, a Mantyke, a Buizel, a Chatot, and a Manaphy (both in the anime, and in the movies). Arceus has been revealed for quite a while, and his movie has been out for a month, and yet they still haven't even come close to revealing a next gen pokemon, not even their sihlouette. This, as well as the fact that it's still doing quite poorly on ratings, leads me to think that the anime is coming to an end. Unless we try and do something to save the show, the show will end in a painful way.

EDIT: Even IF there is a Generation V in the works, that does NOT mean the Anime will end up following that route. Take the Mario TV series, for example (and this is a very notable example, as up until Pokemon, the Mario TV series was the longest running TV series related to a Video Game (about four seasons, which are two seasons of "Super Mario Bros. Super Show", one Season of "Adventures of Super Mario Bros 3", and one season of "Super Mario World".).). It got cancelled after Super Mario World, and did that stop the Mario games from continuing even into the states? No, it didn't. I mean, they could have easily halted any shippments of any Mario related games after the TV series ended to the states (as the cartoon, much like Pokemon, was technically created as a way to advertize the games), but they didn't. If they can do it, then so can Pokemon.
