HeartGold/SoulSilver - Travel Journal

I did all that jazz, beat gyms horribly underleveled, lost to Jasmine, etc.

I'm now taking on Team Rocket in the Radio Tower. Aipom just learned Double Hit and my team is all in their early 30's.

Oh man, Gligar's going to be so underleveled...
 
Chuck decimated me, so I decided to train a litte more.
I already have the secret potion, so I decided to battle Jasmine, who was kinda easy despite my team being underleveled.

Currently in the Goldenrod radio tower.
When I defeat Proton, I'll go back to cianwood to re-battle Chuck.
 
i beat clair, she was easy. training my extremespeed dratini to the same level as the rest of my pokemon
 
I decided to restart my copy of Heart Gold since I wasn't happy with my first playthrough.

When asked to name my character, I decided to go with Muyiwa which, co-incidentally is my real name. Then, I played thorugh the game until I was asked to choose a starter which I decided - for the first time - would be Totodile. After deciding not to give it a nickname, I set off to find Mr. Pokemon. In the process, I trained Totodile to level 10, found Mr. Pokemon, recieved the Mystery Egg and a Pokedex from Professor Oak. Then, on my way back to New Bark Town, I encountered my red haired rival who I disposed of easily. Then, when I got back to New Bark Town, I named my rival Silver, decided to take on the Gym Badge challenge and set off on my journey.

That's where I saved.

Okay, I just beat the Elite Four. All were easy except Lance who I had trouble with, but my Lanturn saved me multiple times with Thunderwave. And the bunches of Hyper Potions I saved up through gameplay helped too. ;D

I was trying to catch Suicune and I laughed so hard when I caught it.
Process:
Scizor used Bullet Punch!
Suicune used Gust!
Scizor used Bullet Punch!
Suicune's health is in the red zone! (but not at one HP)
Suicune use Aurora Beam!
*throws a quick ball, aww it appeared to be caught*
Suicune used Mist!
*throws a dusk ball, aww, it appeared to be caught*
Suicune used Gust!
*throws a dusk ball, aww it appeared to be caught*
Suicune used Gust!
*throws a pokeball for the lulz*
...
Congratulations, Suicune is caught!
...
What the heck?
...
HELL YEAH!!

As you can see, the process was rather short compared to other legendary fights.

Just got me my Rainbow Wing from the man in Pewter City.

Flew to Sapphron, rode the Magnet Train, then flew to Ecruteak.

Took me like 10 mins to get to Ho-oh.

Now, I've been spending the last 5 hours trying to capture Ho-oh (Lv. 70) in a regular Poke Ball.

And I'm losing hope. ._.

Try setting your DS clock to night time and use Dusk Balls. I had the same problem :/ I just changed it to night time and used like 10 Dusk Balls and caught it.
 
Got all eight Kanto badges and caught Ho-Oh, Moltres and Articuno, when I get Zapdos I'll have all the birds.
 
Currently leveling up for taking down Red. Will take quite some time lol.

Feraligatr lvl 55 (Surf, Waterfall, Ice Fang, Crunch)
Jolteon lvl 54 (Quick Attack, Thunder Fang, Thunder, Hyper Beam)
Gengar lvl 53 (Shadow Ball, Psychic, Dark Pulse, Destiny Bond)
Dragonite lvl 57 (Fly, Dragon Dance, Earthquake, Thunder)
Drapion lvl 58 (Cross Poison, Crunch, Bug Bite, Ice Fang)

Kinda tired of trying to take down the new Elite Four. Especially since the first Psychic guy is boring to leveling on. Any other suggestions to faster lvling? x)
 
question here :

should i swap Ruru (espeon) for a Jynx ?

i know espeon have a higher stat and all....but i need one ice type to pwn some Dragonite.... >:I

or... should i keep ice fang on my gyarados and keep my espeon (he took so much time to evolve....its gonna be hard to ditch him.... :C )

Reset your clock to get the gym leader phone numbers, then match up one Pokemon from your team to a leader that it can sweep and it will get levels fast. I got my level 60 team to level 70 in less than a day.
 
Just defeated the Elite 4 again, i'm going to start changing my DS clock so that I can keep re battling the gym leaders until my team reaches level 70-75

So, I took SecretPotion to Jasmine and healed Amphy today, and then went out and got my own!

Yup. My Flaaffy finally evolved, as did Croconaw, and my four 'main team' members are all at Lv. 30 as we prepare to take on Chuck.

My team is now:
Feraligatr - Lv. 30
Ampharos - Lv. 30
Pidgeotto - Lv. 30
Shiny Vulpix - Lv. 30

Plus Paras for Cut and Rock Smash and Totodile for Surf. These guys will be replaced later when I acquire Sneasel and Teddiursa to create my dream team. :)

I'm using the area just past Ecruteak to train because there are a lot of normal types around there (Meowth, Raticate, Miltank) that all my 'mons can manage against, and also quite a lot of Magnemite that my Vulpix can get a kick out of KOing. She's going to be dealing the most with Jasmine so she's training against these part-Steel-types, wheras Pidgeotto and Ampharos are going to be my main force against Chuck, as Fighting is weak to Flying (Primeape) and Water to Electric (Poliwrath).

I got my shiny Gyarados and explored the lake of rage. I love SS, as I never played the original, so it's nice playing a remake of a game you never played. :D Lulz.

So now I'm at Team Rocket HQ and all my team are still under level 30. :O
Well actually all 6 are Level 29.
 
- Got to Vermillion City.
- Beat Lt.Surge.
- Beat Sabrina.
- Got the Machine Part and Charge Beam.
- Beat Misty.
- Beat Erica.
- Beat Janine.
- Got the Kanto Radio Card.
- Just caught Snorlax.

WHAT. THE. HECK.

Two shocking stories one after another.
I caught Lugia with a Fast ball, on the first turn! I wasted my money buying supplies, also, I lost my Pokewalker! Waah. ;;
 
Well... OMG I CAUGHT A SHINY PIDGEY!!!!!
It was totally random! I was on the route just before the city with falkners gym and it came out like random :D Last shiny I had was a tangela off firered!
Its now a shiny lv 27 pidgeotto!
I am having trouble with jasmin at the moment I cant seem to beat her steelix! I think its because my quilava hasnt evolved yet (its at lv31) so i think ill go down the route before the safari zone and train :(
