Hello guys! I literally just registered. Why? Because I graduated from college with no job and the League community is annoying. I missed playing RPGs and I read how great Gen V is so I decided to get Pokemon Black. I played Platinum when I worked at a daycare because all they did was battle each other and I got destroyed over and over again ("Pokemon used to be in black and white?? What's a Gameboy?"). I don't remember anything of Platinum, so effectively the last game I played was Pokemon Silver when I was 10.

I'm at the first gym in Black and I'm actually not complaining about aesthetics of the new Pokemon or anything! I enjoy it so far and I'm not even that far into the game at all. Does anyone have any tips, advice, etc. for someone returning to the game so many generations later?

    Thank you =D

Hey there Slvc how's it going? Welcome to PC !

Congrats on graduating from college man! I should be starting my junior year of college if I were going to school. Though I'm not in college cause of graduating high school later than my class. D: It's a long story. :P I have no job either so I have lots of free time too myself. Pokemon is a main source of entertainment for me when bored cause it's been a part of my life since I was 6. Gold and Silver were amazing, but it's good hear you're enjoy and getting back into Pokemon now. I honestly loved Gen V about as much as I liked Generation III. It has unique Pokemon and one of the best stories of the series so you should definitely love them! They're excellent games in my opinion. If you need tips on Black and White, just try the Fifth Generation section. You should fine a Quick Question thread where you can ask any questions on the game you needed answered. You can also keep track of the journey you make in the game in the Unova Travel Journal . When I first was thinking of joining, I saw the travel journals we have and it convinced me a bit more to sign up. Once you're done with Black and White , why not try the sequels, Black 2 and White 2? They're just as fun as the first two, maybe even better in my opinion! I also say that you should get SoulSilver since you played the original Silver and it's the remake of that. Platinum is my favorite Sinnoh-region based game, so I personally recommend to retry Platinum too. That one is more of a personal opinion and suggestion.

You can also post around here too to help. I know that from my experience, posting about Pokemon on PC has made me a even bigger fan than I once was. I think that once you posted around in a good amount of places, you could become more into Pokemon once again. Plus you can meet lots of great people here who also love Pokemon. We are a very nice and helpful community so don't be afraid to chat with us or ask us questions. If you do ever have any concerns just post them in the Questions & Feedback section.

Well , have lots of fun here talking about Pokemon, among other things. See you around!

What's up, Slvc! ..I'm having a hard time pronouncing your name, maybe you can clear that up for me? Is it meant to be pronounceable? @_@; But anyways, welcome to the forum!

As AWsquared said, congrats on graduating! I should only have one semester left so I'm quite close myself, but it's unfortunate that you can't find a job. Sadly that's the kind of economy we live in.. it makes me worried for when I graduate myself, sigh. But I know you can do it if you work hard enough. Pokemon's a nice distraction from the real world and I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it so much. :) Sadly I'm not the best at giving tips unless it's for a specific situation but you're free to poke around the Fifth Generation board and discuss things with us or perhaps ask through the simple questions thread there. We have lots of nice faces itching to help out! The sequels were indeed wonderful; a lot better than B/W, even (in my eyes), so hopefully you try those out sometime.

But pfff... those silly kids. Little do they know how old Pokemon is and how awesome it's been since fifteen years ago! It's great to have been a fan of the series for such a long time. Watching it grow and evolve has been a real pleasure, don't you think?

Anyways, enjoy your stay here, all right? I'm crossing my fingers that you stick around and evolve to become a forum regular. We love having new faces and you're no exception! Have fun. :3

No actually, they're just my initials.. I've used it as various screennames and emails since 1995. Just pronounce the letters.

Thank you for the greeting! I'll probably stick around. I don't have any friends who play Pokemon (or at least, none who would admit .. and I guess I won't tell anyone either haha), so it's up to me to find friends on here! I just gotta learn how to use the friend code thing .. I've never played a multiplayer Nintendo game before. I mean, unless you count Mario Kart, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Pokemon Red/Silver/Platinum and Mario Party 8 =X All offline
