Bzz. Bzz. Bzz.
That damn alarm clock again. Alex fumbled around the bedside table, hitting anything he could reach in the hope of silencing the wretched alarm. Eventually his fingers found the right object; he sighed with relief and sank back into the comfort of bed.
"Alex! Alex? It's your shift," the gravelly voice yelled from across the hall, quickly followed by thudding footsteps and the slamming of a solid, oak door. Ergh. 6am. Bane of my existence.
Slowly, but surely, Alex hauled himself out of bed. His clothes from the day before were slumped across the sofa, he quickly dressed himself – not worrying about washing, the Pidgey don't tend to mind. Climbing the stairs, Alex made his way to the loft, where the mail-birds were kept.
"Chirp, chirp," cooed the smallest Pidgey, sat on a perch in the middle of the room, hopping from side to side in excitement.
"Morning Smidge, got anything?" Alex asked, taking the bird onto his hand and taking the note tied to her ankle. He quickly skimmed the content, the young Pidgey sitting on his shoulder staring intently at the paper, "Looks like the Gym need a few birds for delivery. Jet! Got a task for you, boy!" A huge Honchcrow dived down from the rafters, startling Smidge, swooping onto the perch. The two birds eyed each other up, many of the larger birds were dominant over little Smidge – and Jet was the biggest of the mail-birds.
"To the League and back by nightfall," The bird nodded in understanding as Alex attached an empty packing tube to the bird's back, "Collect the new badges and drop them off at the Gym, O.K.?" The bird, silent and majestic, nodded once more before opening its wings and launching itself upwards – towards the skylight and out in to the orange-red sky.
The bird on his shoulder fidgeted around, regaining its confidence with the absence of Jet, "Breakfast then, I guess?" Alex suggested, stroking the top of Smidge's head. Her reply was a soft coo and a light chirp. Smidge has been rescued from the forest a few months ago, although she was still young she has already learnt the basics of the delivery thanks to Alex's training – the two of them has become quite close. Reaching into a barrel by the door, Alex fished out a handful of poffin treats, filling up the bowls laid around the room. Putting two fingers to his mouth he whistled, and a flurry of wings erupted through the skylight and in to the loft. "Eat up guys, plenty to do today!"
With that, Alex left the loft – now the birds were ready for work he had to prepare himself, he may be good enough for the birds but his father would not have him looking anything less than perfect when dealing with clients.

First blog post! Oh my.
So I've never used this before, but I think it's time to change that >:3
People may have seen me before in the Other Chat / ROM-Hacking sections, but I tend to lurk in all the forum sections to see what's happening. Recently I've been really intrigued by the RP section, I was about to enter one today but then found it was full ;__; The RPs on this site have such few people allowed! Oh well.
Anyway, I wrote up my sign up, as well as an RP sample of my character. So I thought I might as well post that here :3.
BTW this is the visual I have of Alex, which is some lovely fanart of Lavi from D.Grey Man :3
