Elaborating on what CJoE said, if you haven't joined to participate in any particular section - ie, ROM Hacking/Game Dev/Fanfiction/etc - I'd recommend just having a look through any of the sections that look interesting. I see you've already posted about a fan-made game you're working on, and I assume you mean Game Dev and not ROM Hacking? I wish you luck with that, I'm actually working on one myself as well.
There's a lot of people here and a lot of activity, so it can seem intimidating, but don't let that worry you! Find the sections that interest you and dive in :3

I'm sure your experience here will be pleasant, the community's pretty nice and there is always something new going on.
