Yes, i'm currently playing pokemon x, i just beat the elite 4 yesterday, and when the 3ds is all charged up i will begin the aftergame and then i will start with the online part ( battles, friend safari and such). And then i will play pokemon Y ( yes i bough both versions because i am that a pokemon fan boy xD)
The other two who posted before have already recommended some places you might like but you'll run into loads of Pokemon fans here anyhow given how big the forum is. I've been playing Pokemon games for 10 years now, getting better with every new generation. While X and Y changed a lot of mechanics I spent time learning everything to prepare for when I do play the games.
As Sheep said, we have more than just Pokemon topics here so I'm sure you can stick around and make some new friends along the way. The staff members in blue, orange and red are also there if you have questions, although some non-staff might step in to help as well.
