    Hello community~
The name is megamanaero, although Aero would suffice when addressing me! I've love Pokemon since my younger, more cherished years, and have been a follower since Gen 1.
I recently decided to start my own Pokemon hack as a tribute to the beloved series, however aside from getting my friends 'In real life' hyped for it I need the help and tools to actually make this game. I really want to do this project on my own yet I realize with the lack of expertise in the hacking area I know I'll have trouble, which is where the nice guys of these forums come in!
If anyone can, refer me to tutorials for Intro, Music, Sprite, Scripting, and mapping then It'd be more than helpful!

Also before I end this I'll let you guys know I'm not "new", I've lurked around these forums for a while but it was mostly to play other peoples hacks (Flora Sky, Life of Guardians, and Prism to name a few I beat).

Welcome to the PokeCommunity, megamanaero! I have also been following Pokemon since Generation 1 as well, and now I'm a fan of the 5th Generation. :D PC has tons of members that love many generations, either all or just one! In fact, you'll get along with almost everyone here, regardless of their Pokemon experience. :D

I can definitely refer you to the Tools and Tutorials section right inside the largest section PC has, the Emulation section. ROM hacking is popular right now, and the section is really active. If you ever need any help with ROM hacking, you'll probably find the answer in the many threads inside.

Glad you've come out of lurking so you can be pretty active here! You'll love it here! Have an awesome time, best of luck on your future ROM hack project, and I'll see ya around! :3

Welcome to the forums! im pretty new here too. awesome ain't it?

Hi there and welcome to the forums! Oh gosh, another hacker? This is amazing! I can't actually believe that there's a lot of hackers around, hopefully this will keep on the activity in the Emulation section as well as the whole board. This is just so cool! Anyway, since your interested in ROM-hacking and is asking about learning the basics, I think Megan already linked it to you, so there's no need for me to do so! Basically, as long as you read the tutorials carefully and have patience with you, you'll eventually learn so! And there's a lot of tools posted in the Tools board that you will need in order to start out especially Advance Map! Hacking is pretty easy and it is really fun, and it can get you really busy too, it's tough but it's worth it if you've done something! Definitely looking forward to see you there, and have fun learning! <3

I've also been a fan ever since Generation l was released, and I am still following the whole gen till today, I think I love all of em, never really hated them. I was kind of disappointed with Gen V at first, but as I played Pokemon White, it really grew on me and so I learned to love the whole thing! So, yeah that's pretty much the story behind it. :P

You might want to check out the whole forum aside from the Emulation section only, there's a lot of Pokemon discussions and I'm pretty sure some of 'em would get you interested to discuss in and join in especially the games sections such as B/W, Fourth Generation Games and etc! There's also the off-topic boards if you ever feel like getting away with the whole franchise for a while, it's definitely fun here and you could also meet a lot of friends along the way. :D

If you have any questions, or if you need a hand. Don't hesitate to contact me or any of our staff members here, especially Megan, she already offered her hand to help you out, so don't be shy! Read the rules and make sure keep in mind the whole rules! Have a fabulous time and see you around the board! lovelots,xo

Thanks everyone, I am thankful Meganium90 and Snivy063 showed me where to look for tuts, tools, and the showcase!
Although I will have to sadly tell you all I am not going to chat in the forums much as my friends want me to get a Alpha version of the game out by June (I want to as well, since some Juniors at my school will be leaving not too far down the road/year).
Another sad thing to inform you guys is that I might not even make my game known to the Pokecommunity as it's more a personal pursuit and if the game is good to my friends I'll THINK on releasing the Beta version to the public and if it gets good feedback you could expect the final version not to far away.

    ...Time to get to work!

Welcome to the forums, huh? I guess I was a PC lurker here, too - it took me quite a while, years in fact, before I actually signed up.

Well, anyway... I wonder where you'll be in? ROM hacks usually go to ROM hacking in Emulation, so I think giving it a check is a good idea. Don't forget the other forum sections too, be it large or small. Sometimes it's all about your interests.

    Have fun around PC!
