I just joined the forum as you can all see, or whoever views this thread.
A few things about me i suppose:
20 years old.
Writer, play guitar, and huge gamer.
If anyone would like to add me on xbox: Middeneaht is my gamertag, i play halo, minecraft, magic, cod (mainly zombies), and such.

I decided to join the forum cause a few days ago i started playing crystal on my computer again, and I have been greatly enjoying it, but then i realized i had shiny gold on my computer and was like damn this is nice. I haven't started it up yet much, but its awesome seeing a gold/crystal/silver with WAY better graphics.

Also, question for people?
My brother has a DSi and i was going to probably rent a pokemon game at are local video store, should i get Platnium or on of the remakes for gold/silver? or maybe buy depending on price?

Also another question. xD what roms would you guys recommend you loved? im mainly looking for something that sticks back to Emerald and back?

Welcome to the forums !
We all enjoy gaming so that's great to hear that you like playing games on your 360 !
If you go to the control panel, you can add your gamer tag like I've done to your profile. That way every time you post, members can see it =)

Yes I remember playing the original silver on my gameboy colour ! Oh those were the days ! I've recently started playing White and I really should play it more !

I would never rent a Pokemon game and I would always buy ! I shopped around for my copy of white and got it for around £20 when most stores and online websites wanted £25 for it.

It's up to you what game you would like to play, but you could try White/Black 2 or one of the remakes such as Heartgold or Soulsilver as they are the most recent games at the moment.

I'm not sure about roms, they are not my expertise. I'm sure another member can answer you on that one !

I totally agree with you about Shiny Gold. When I first played it it was such an awesome feeling - I mean, G/S/C were fantastic games, but seeing them improved really does enhance the experience. Luckily we got HG/SS later.. was really wonderful finally having an official remake for fans to try. <3; Anyways, welcome!

But ohhh man your question is hard. I loved Platinum and it was a huge step up from Diamond/Pearl but HeartGold/SoulSilver were also really good. Only thing that bothered me in HG/SS was how slow the battle animations and PC went, but that's dismissable. Personally since you've already played Shiny Gold and the originals I'd say go for Platinum for now and try the rest later. Definitely try to buy a copy instead of renting though, you'll probably get attached to your file at some point, haha. Can't help much with ROMs though since I haven't played many (nor completed a single one) so you'll have to dig around Emulation and take a peek or perhaps ask someone else. ): But since there are so many great games here, you'll probably find something soon enough, so good luck.

You'll find lots to do and talk about here on PokeCommunity so have a wonderful time! Lots of people around every corner to meet too, as cheesy as that sounds. You're a cool guy. Glad you got back into the franchise again with Crystal, because that's one of my favorite games! Actually, I mean the GSC trifecto, Gold in particular. But they're all pretty similar apart from a few changes so you get the point. It's funny how ShinyGold was partly why you went and joined this forum, too. That was the main reason I even joined this place, so to have that hack attracting members even now is just, wow. Unbelievable.

But yes, welcome to our little place in the Internet. I said you were a cool guy, and I wasn't lying. Being a writer, a guitarist and a gamer is already a pretty solid combination of things to be interested in. I'm only like one of those things, haha. I believe that you'll find this place pretty swell if you look at the right places, and we have parts of the forum that are perfect for those particular interests. I trust that you'll know how to get around. :]

Cirno already answered your questions, but I'd like to chime in and second her statement on opting to not play HeartGold/SoulSilver. You can play Platinum if that's really all there is to rent, but Black 2/White 2 or one of its prequels isn't too shabby either. It's your call on which game you think you'll have most fun with. ;) As for that second question, I suggest you play either Emerald, FireRed/LeafGreen or Yellow. I loved FireRed among all those I mentioned the most, so that would be my main pick.

I hope you eventually decide on those things! Haha. Stick around for a long time, alright? I'll be seein' ya. :D
