I am FifthAndEight. The name, by the way, is a music theory pun. It is a bit confusing to people, but it means I am perfect. Anyway, Pokemon Blue was my first game. I signed up for this forum hoping to find other people who are actually enthusiastic about Pokemon, as in my town it is pretty rare.

Welcome, FifthAndEighth! I like your username a whole lot XD
You have come to the right place to find fellow Pokemon fans. The community overall is super friendly, and you might even find people who study music theory if you look in the "General Entertainment" board! It may also contain some of your other interests! c:

May I ask, what do you like about Pokemon?

I'll definitely check the general entertainment. Anyway, to answer your question, the main thing I like about Pokemon is that it is 1) an RPG, my favorite genre of games
2)It got me into RPGs, so there's mega bias
3)It is a casual game, but not so easy it's dull
and 4)It doesn't try to make the story more serious than it needs to be (even though it can get pretty serious)

Yeah Pokémon is very casual and that's part of why I love it so much. There are a lot of ways to play thanks to challenges and while I do wish the main game were more difficult for an older player like me there are still ways to ramp up difficulty yourself, like through nuzlockes.

Welcome, FifthAndEight! :3 You can find a lot of fans here and I'm sure you'll make many friends if you stick around.
