Hi, I'm BlueRaith. I've been playing pokemon games since I was about seven on that, as my kid sister says, "ugly, clunky, old Gameboy," lol. Started with Red, but really fell in love with Crystal Version, I was so excited that I could finally play as a girl.... Well, as the years have gone by, I've lost my Gameboy and my Red and Crystal Versions. Sadness...

But, then I discovered emulators and ROMs when Pokemon had a massive resurgence during my senior year in highschool. You could see people on nearly every computer in the library playing some version of pokemon or another. However, it wasn't until now, after graduation, that I've started to explore this a bit more. Eventually, I came across hacks. Not just any hack though, a hack of FireRed version that remade my all time favorite pokemon game. (I refused to play HG/SS because Nintendo heartlessly trashed my favorite female avatar/sprite in favor of the... other girl.)

Anyway, so I discovered Liquid Crystal (and I'm having a blast) on this site and decided to join up to download the walkthrough and pokemon list, I figured I probably wasn't going to really post on here much. (Not that y'all aren't cool, I've been lurking but I wasn't sure if I wanted to join another forum.) However, that changed when I also found out that I might be able to figure out how to hack myself. I've got me a storyline from a fanfiction I'd started, downloaded Advanced Maps and now I'm just fooling around with it and trying to learn how to works. Not sure if I'll ever get any good, but I'll give it a shot and if I think my hack's good enough, I'll put it on here lol. If I can figure out all the other stuff on making hacks that is....

Nuuuuuuu! Please please please don't write off HGSS because they switched Kris for Lyra. I'm heartbroken too, but if you can just pull through it I swear to you that you will not regret it. They are, in my opinion, the greatest Pokemon games of all time. You cannot go to your grave without ever having that experience! Just pull through it, please! :P

Hacks are pretty cool, I love the idea of changing a Pokemon game to fix its limitations to make it the best version of itself it can be. If only we could hack into our own minds and do the same :P. I've never played a hack though, I think maybe if I start I'll never stop and that scares me haha. I hope you enjoy it though, you seem to be having a great time!

I hope you enjoy our forums too! There's a whole ton of stuff to look at, so I hope you get a chance to have a good browse. The community here is really friendly, so I'm sure you'll fit right in :)

So yeah, good luck with Liquid Crystal (I typed out "Liquor" then instead of Liquid, that's really bad) and hopefully I'll see you around! :D

I started with Blue too, on a really cool transparent purple Gameboy. Crystal was definitely one of the best games, got me hooked for so long. As for hacks, yeah, we definitely have so many amazing ones here, don't we? :D ShinyGold was how I found out about PC in the first place so many years ago haha. I'm glad you're enjoying what the members have made!

I'll have to think about HGSS. Lyra really turns me off though, I can't seem to take her seriously in her Toad hat. I may have to play as Ethan so I don't have to look at her more than absolutely necessary which is a shame because I haven't played as a guy in Pokemon since like.... '99 lol.

Then there's all the new Pokemon, something I'm not particularly fond of. I tend to play up to Gen III Pokemon but even then, I think 386 is excessive. I one of those people that probably would have been happy with just the 251 in Gen II. Not many people would agree with me, I'd wager, lol. However, I also train every single Pokemon I catch, and I catch all of them so, training 400+ 'mons really seems like a daunting task, especially since I breed for IVs and EVs at the end of the main storyline....

I don't know, I have been thinking about it and considering breaking my rules for training just for that game to see what it's about, but we'll see. At least HGSS has the remake of my favorite Gen going for it. I know I'll never play D/P/Pl or Black/White because they feature the new 'mons I've never gotten attached to and the rehashed storyline. They don't look like bad games, by any means, but one of the reasons hacks got my attention other than Liquid Crystal are some of the really creative ones I've been seeing that get away from the standard "beat the gym leaders and elite 4" formula.

I'm having a great time, though and thank you for the welcome. :) I'll be sure to check out the rest of the boards as well.

Hello and thank you! Was that the Gameboy Color? I upgraded to that very same purple, transparent GBC when Crystal came out. I loved it like it was my own. Until my sister "misplaced it." That was a sad day....

I think I've only just begun shifting through all the hacks that are on this site, there are so many lol. I've limited myself to two so far so I don't get overwhelmed. Haven't gotten too far in Reign of Legends because Liquid Crystal is just keeping my attention in all its remake goodness but I'm sure I'll get through it eventually.

I think I'll be around for a while. Pokemon and first trilogy Spyro are the only games series I consistently come back to. The nostalgia is just too strong to go away and those are some really good games even now. The hacking community does seem cool and the tutorials are quite nice. Haven't gotten a chance to look at the other boards, but I'm sure they're nice there too so that's next on my list. Thank you for the welcome. :)

Thank you, I hope I like it here too :)! Yeah, the ROM hacking section is really cool and y'all have some great tutorials on here. Advanced Maps was made very simple thanks to them and hopefully scripting will go as smoothly for me after I read on some of the tutorials on that. I'll have to check out the PC Adoption Center, but I'm going to try to get through this myself first. Not that I don't think I won't need any help, which is untrue now considering the tutorials I've read and youtube videos on hacking I've watched lol, but I don't want to go in there without meeting anybody halfway, you know? Thanks again for the welcome. :D
