Friends, family, people I do not know... IT IS I, DUNGJOW (i was told it's DJ in another language, but I'm sure my friends just wanted to call me dung.) I want to say I've been playing Pokemon throughout all gens but I haven't. I played the death out of Blue, Red, and Yellow. I had 1000's of Pokemon cards. Then puberty hit. So, fast forward to the ripe age of 30 and I'm back into it. I've got my 6 year old daughter into it. I didn't know how far Pokemon has come! So, now I'm out to "Catch them all!" and train them to be the best of the best. I've got a long way to go, but everyone started somewhere. Nice to meet you all!

Wow, 30? That's awesome! It's always nice to see older fans getting back into the franchise! Things have come a fairly long way since the original games, although the basic idea is still the same, so whilst a lot has changed it still feels the same as it did back then, right? It does for me, at least...every new game makes me feel like I'm ten years old again!

But a lot of people have gotten back into Pokemon with the release of X/Y and the sudden competence Nintendo have displayed at advertising their games - was that what prompted you to get back into it? Or was it the imminent release of ORAS? Or even just a sense of nostalgia? xD

Woop, welcome back to the world of Pokemon and to PokeCommunity, Dungjow! That's pretty darn awesome that your daughter is into it too.. I really hope my kids would be interested if I ever have any. Oh what a fun family that would be. :D

Thousands of Pokemon card?? That's pretty awesome, do you not have them anymore? I still have the cards I bought as a kid a whopping 15 years ago and am not planning on letting them go anytime soon.. good thing mom never did throw them out, lol. Would've been heartbreaking.

Be sure to pop on often to discuss the franchise with us. You can chat about all the games, trade, battle, and so on so it's worth it to stick and watch the forum continue to grow. Do ask if you need anything during your stay. <3

Wow a 30-year-old man who still plays Pokemon? You surely must be a dedicated fan, I know that my childhood Pokemon love managed to persist into my 20's. Anyways, welcome aboard Dungjow!

This forum has a fair share of older Pokemon fans so it's definitely not a weird thing to see here. Nice to see your daughter got into Pokemon as well, it is a catchy franchise after all and something I view for everyone, not just kids. I do feel sorry for the fate of your cards, but they do have beautiful Pokemon artwork on them so even I were to collect them, I'd mainly want them for the pics hahahahaha.

But yeah, as you learned a lot has changed about the franchise and it's hard to believe Pokemon will be celebrating its 20th anniversary come 2016, now I feel old thinking about that. Well, have an awesome time with us and we hope to see you around!
