Help for a Newbie

    Heya, I'm Lucky and I'm trying to make a ROM hack of sorts. I have zero prior experience with hacking or coding. To give you a scope of my abilities, the most in-depth I've ever gotten is italicizing or bolding words in HTML.

    The game I'm intending to hack is Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky.
    My hack isn't really going to have any gameplay, I just want to make a bunch of cutscenes strung together. My goal is to bring to life a fic that I wrote about my team (rather silly, I know).

    Does anyone have any pointers for me? Any ideas on where to start? I've gotten a few sprite sheets downloaded, but that's about it.
    Any information you can provide would be a huge help.
     
    Afaik there's not a lot of research been done on that PMD game - I think the only threads we have relating to PMD regard Red Rescue Team here and here, but they're probably not much use to you.

    Good luck with your project, it sounds interesting! I really like these visual-novel-esque games. You could probably still make your idea a reality using one of the "core" games if you wanted.
