I need some help finding a decent anti-tank. I would prefer to use taunt and have one or 2 decent attacking moves. I was thinking muk, weezing, absol, or banette.

    Gengar @ Petaya Berry {Spd+ PhAt-} [252+SpAt 252+Spd 6+HP]
    Thunderbolt/Psychic
    Mean Look
    Hypnosis
    Nightmare

I would have used Seismic Toss, but it's putting Gengar's high Special Attack to waste. If you want Seismic Toss, go ahead; make sure to readjust the IVs.

Mean Look the tank. Then, use Hypnosis, followed by Nightmare for a constant drain on the tank's HP. Being a Posion-type, Gengar cannot be poisoned. This makes Gengar a good choice, since many tanks rely on Toxic. Of course, I'm biased; just check out my avatar.

    Or change it a bit:

    Gengar @ Petaya Berry {Spd+ PhAt-} [252+SpAt 252+Spd 6+HP]
    Thunderbolt/Psychic
    Seismic Toss
    Mean Look
    Taunt/Mist

Gengar is THE anti-tank of the ages... immunity to 3 elements and toxic say that "Tank? Let me handle it!" However, my strange personality keeps telling me "do not use it because it's OU enough already" so that's why I still have so much trouble against tanks...

    another highly standard Gengar moveset:

    Gengar- [speed + / atk or sp.atk or something -] @ leftovers
    EV: Speed, sp.atk or atk
    -sub
    -focus punch
    -giga drain/psychic
    -thunderbolt

Sub, then bolt those Weezings (or you can psychic this guy) and Skarmory. Focus punch on Blissey, and giga drain Swamperts. It's special purpose is to destroy tankers, so it may do not as well against other Pokemon such as Salamences or Metagrosses.

Or u could use my classic Mew 2 take out ne Snorlax.
    Mew
    Nightmare (anti-rest)
    Brick Break
    Recover
    w/e u want

invincible 2 ne Snorlax, but weak 2 every1 else. U should only use it if u hav a friend like mine who takes this Mew one on one, even though he loses EVERY time.

that Mew cannot take down Unmentionable B who needs no rest to heal though... plus on top of that, it's an ubar.

I believe in ubars, and i don't even c y Mew is considered 1. xcept 4 the fact dat he can learn ne TM or HM, his stats r'nt dat great, and neither r his movesets. The only other advantage he haz is having a balanced Attack and Sp. Att, meaning he can b a sp. sweeper, physical sweeper, or sp and physical sweeper @ da same time. I just think he's cool.

you answered your own question thank you... right... it's the only thing in the world that can use swords dance AND immediate self heal too... that's not ubar? And a total of 600 base stats is in fact, one of the top 10 highest stats in game.

    Not great moveset? What is...
    -psychic
    -explosion
    -roar
    -softboil
    -surf
    -ice beam
    -thunderbolt
    -flamethrower/overheat
    -calm mind
    -swords dance
    -return
    -earthquake
    -rock slide
    -substitute
    -aerial ace
    -brick break
    -shadowball

"only" some of the strongest and most useful move out of every element except bug, hey? From such a great movepool listed above, it's enough to make like 8 different Mew that's useful for 8 different situations.

The only debatable ubar is Celebi and Jirachi though. Jirachi has 1/4 the movepool of mew, while Celebi cannot attack that well at all. (but all 3 of them has the same stats)

Jirachi just isn?t complementary of its type and ability, but Celebi and at least Naturalbell like Blissey, but it has a lot more weaknesses than Blissey does. Of course, Celebi can seed too?

Awesome, I'm gonna use gengar. I was looking for a reason to use gengar, and now I've got one .

    I think I'll go with

    Gengar @ Petaya Berry {Spd+ PhAt-} [252+SpAt 252+Spd 6+HP]
    Dreameater
    Mean Look
    Hypnosis
    Nightmare

Is dreameater worth it, or just stick to thunder bolt?

If you've already used Mean Look, then Dreameater is just fine. If you're facing a Dark-type, then Nightmare will take care of your foe.

What if you face an opponent with Insomnia? Now Gengar is worthless. Maybe Psychic /Thunderbolt is a better idea -- there is no Dark- or Ground-type with Insomnia. Thunderbolt is fine, as well. It also has more PP. Gengar won't always be facing tanks, after all.

i still promote standard Gengar with sub/fpunch/2 of tbolt+psychic+gdrain+sball. Really Gengar with such pathetic defenses cannot possibly last a few rounds for you to setup the mean look, or missing the hypnosis (which is often).

Gengar can beat tanks... because of immunity towards the tank moves (toxic/quake/return/reversal). But Gengar is better at sweeping the tanks, than to go on stall wars with tanks.

If you're going to use Gengar as a sweeper, then I suggest using Salac Berry and Destiny Bond. You might as well take out someone else with you. Thunderbolt and Psychic won't always get the job done.

But they do well enough to weaken foes who are already injured by others or spikes, really. Destiny Bond has its place, but just taking down any old thing with it isn?t wise. 350 special attack can finish off a lot of foes, really.

If you know that Gengar can take out a foe in one hit, then do so. However, if you know the tables have turned (you're facing a special sponge, et cetera) or if you have considerable doubt about whether you can OHKO your opponent, then use Destiny Bond. Personally, I like a sure thing.

Destiny bond doesn't always work, though. Once in Battle Tower the only guy i had left waz my Skarmory, and Sableeye used Destiny Bond, but then next turn i killed it and it didn't kill me (thank heavens). I don't no y this happened, but it shows Destiny Bond isn't 100% reliable.

destiny bond IS 100% reliable... more details are needed regarding what went on to know why destiny bond failed in that situation.

Gengar with such fast speed shouldn't use destiny bond... if you're against a special sponge, switch out Gengar. Even if Gengar is already in red, you shouldn't let it die. It can still sweep even if it's low on hp due to super high offensive power, and a naturally high and dangerous speed. Keep it, and save it for another day.
