Heracross @ Choice Scarf
Megahorn
Stone Edge
Close Combat
Night Slash
Adamant; 252 atk/sp, 6 hp
Ability: Guts
This is my lead. I've chosen Night Slash over toxic and pursuit because I've had more problems with gengars than anything else.
Garchomp @ Yache Berry
Outrage
Earthquake
Fire Fang
Swords Dance
Jolly; 252 atk/sp, 6 hp
Typical set up no need to explain it's purpose.
Tyranitar @ Blackglasses
Crunch
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Dragon Dance
Jolly; 252 atk/sp, 6 hp
Another typical set up. Blackglasses increase crunchs power to close to that of stone edge, so a fall back to if I need a good 100% accuracy attack.
Skarmory @ Shed Shell
Roost
Whirlwind
Stealth Rock
Brave Bird
Impish; 108 atk, 148 def, 252 hp
Ability: Keen Eye
Typical set up (with all these typical set ups I'll probably be pretty predicable). Probably my only decent counter to baton passers. Not sure if this is the best ev spread to get the best Defence and attack I'd like. Might trade a few HP evs to speed to outrun a few pokemon.
Gengar @ Life Orb
Shadow Ball
Focus Blast
Thunderbolt
Hypnosis
Timid; 252 sp, 252sp atk, 6 hp
That smile on this pokemon shows the true nature of this set: evil and annoying.
Deoxys - Speed @ Expert Belt
Shadow Ball
Psychic
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Modest; 252 sp/ sp atk, 6 hp
This is my favorite pokemon. Late game arrivals spell absolute doom to a team that's taken losses, sandstorm and stealth rock hits. Expert Belt is to give that extra punch against a lot of pokemon that annoy my team (Gengar, Gyarados, Garchomp and Inferape to name a few). The EV spread I'm not sure is totally benefical. I think I can get by with not so many EVs put into speed, but not sure how much I can give up and where to put it. I know the best counter against this pokemon are pokemon with shadow sneak, bullet punch and such.
The strategy with my team is mostly to weaken them enough with my main attackers (Tyranitar, Garchomp, Gengar and Skarmory) so my Heracross and Deoxys - Speed can revenge kill the other pokemon. I've only used this team a few times on shoddy and it's proven effective so far, but I'm wondering if there are better choices to this team or maybe a better lead pokemon.
