Hi guys,

I need some help. I have completed platinum and am now just roaming around trying to catch all the pokemon I can. I have just started on the insertion pokemon. I have emerald inserted, it runs fine on its own but when I'm playing platinum I just cant encounter pineco. I have encountered over 400 pokemon in eterna forest now and not once has it been pineco. Am I doing something wrong?

Hey bro,

The only possible thing YOU might have done wrong: Keep Emerald in the slot AT ALL TIMES. It won't work otherwise, or at least to my knowledge. I heard that if you keep the game in the slot for the "main screen," it will still work.

It could also be Nintendo's mistake. I have had experiences of Nintendo forgetting to program a Pokemon into an area.

If neither of these is the problem, you are probably just super unlucky. The rate of an Emerald-dongle Pineco appearing in Eterna Forest is 8%, so just keep walking.

I would doubt that it's a mistake on Nintendo's part @ above post (or should I say Game Freak as they are the ones that make the games) - they mass produce the games so it's quite unlikely an individual one will not have a certain Pokemon appear when it does in other games.

You can also try other routes (like 203 and 204).
