Not sure if it's worthwhile to do this but, eh, why not? I'm lonely lately and people don't exactly engage me much anymore (and by that I mean in general, not PC, it's the lingering post-college effect).

Anyway, hello! On the internet I currently call myself Amaruuk. I'm a small, 26-year-old American female human, with a degree in animation. I grew up in the dreadfully unfitting midwest and moved to Georgia 7 years ago when I left for college (originally for graphic design but changed majors halfway through), and then just stuck around for a bit, got a good-paying job, and am saving to move to Oregon next May.

If you've seen me around somewhere that isn't General Chat or the Pokemon sections, it's probably A&D, as I have been an artist all my life, having inherited that trait from mom's side. If you've seen my gallery thread or the Artists' Journey thing I started you might know some things about me as an artist, but that's certainly not all there is to me. This year I've really rekindled my old love of natural history and found a bit of a community of others of my ilk on Twitter which makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. It's rare for me to feel a sense of belonging; my whole life has kind of just been this journey to find a place and people I can belong to and not just be peripheral or even an outcast. I do not know what it's like to be a "somebody."

But before I prattle on too much about that, uhh... video games, I guess? I play them for funsies and dislike competition or things being overly tedious because I see them as a hobby and not something I'm prepared to invest undue time into when I have an IRL life I'm trying to build. I like Pokemon (obviously) and some other typical things like Mario and Zelda and a few random other sorts of things. Genre-wise I like western RPGs more than anything else. I suck at most games but those are the ones I can play to the best effect and have the most fun with. Games along with watching/reading stuff on the internet are the things you'd most likely find me occupying my free time with.

I am a huge nerd but again I was always into natural history and zoology and science-y things like that rather than, say, superhero comics. When I was a kid I collected rocks and fossils and watched birds and preferred encyclopedias and stuff to most of the fiction we read in school (but that was partly because most of it was depressing and the school was really pushy about reading). A lot of geeky stuff like Lord of the Rings and tabletop games I never experienced or barely heard of until college (though the latter I never got to do much of). I was a ridiculous weeaboo in middle/high school but that part of me was quickly taken out back and shot not far into college, half because I got burned out on anime and fandom in general, half because by then I had witnessed what being like that looks like from the other side and I did not like it one bit. I now prefer to simply enjoy a thing and not be single-mindedly obsessed or identify myself as part of a fandom.

I guess I should end this before it goes on too long, lol. I'll be happy to answer whatever you like! I can't think of anything off-hand that I'd be opposed to answering, so fire away!

    Hi! :3

My favorite Pokemon I would say (at the moment anyway) is Heliolisk. I have a fondness for lizard Pokemon. I wouldn't say I'm into 'casual gaming' (I don't play Facebook games and only really have Solitaire on my phone), I just play normal games with a leisurely approach. I currently rotate around between games. Right now I'm playing Pokemon and RuneScape; a few months ago I had another bout of Skyrim Fever. As for Magic, no I have no interest in collectible card games. Only games with cards I've played with any recency are some random things (Gloom, Love Letter, and Splendor, I think) I played with friends at Dragon*Con and I played DnD a few times but the group kept making a new campaign with a new DM every time and I was just too busy with college so I haven't played in ages and only played thrice. Maybe I'll find a good group after I move and get a real experience.
