Since you're a battler, I totally recommend you visit The Competitive Battling Center here at the PokeCommunity is the perfect place for you to get started on your battling needs. :3 Whether you're, for example, itching for a battle, join in on a current tournament, or even get your teams rated. You'll find the stuff you need in the CBC, not just that, the friends you'll be meeting here. ^_^
And of course, since you mentioned that you'd like to trade. The Trade Corner may be helpful for ya, where you can trade Pokemon with other members of the community, either you want to complete your pokedex, or just for fun. ^_^
Anyways, have a great time here. I'm sure you'll fit in juuust fine. Just read the rules, since they're important. If you need anything like to talk or be friends or have questions. Feel free to ask away! see ya~

Trading and competitive battling? The trade corner and CBC should be where you're headed. I think you will be able to find some friends as you go around the forums and start posting.
