If you like nuzlockes I'm sure you'll enjoy our Challenges board, check that out sometime! You can sign up and let us know your progress through the nuzlocke's official thread. Lots of other challenges to join as well so it'll certainly be a fun ride. I used to be addicted to shiny hunting in generation four but haven't tried it out for a looong while. The Masuda Method is something I've been tinkering around with in Black 2 though, but so far no luck. v_v

Welcome to the forums, and stuff. My first shiny was a Weedle in SS, and the only other ones I've had after him were from BW2. Gible and Haxorus, of course.
